  • Morning all -

Just wondering if anyone knew whether you can access mat services in other PCTs? I'm looking into using a MW-led birth centre, but there isn't one in my PCT (there is in a neighbouring PCT, same county, about 30 mins drive though rather than 15)

Do ppl think I can use the facility or even if it's a good idea?! I like the idea of the MW-led environment and the access to the pools...

    Thanks!

    AM - Will do :D
Fitzio - have you tried putting either a hot flannel or a cold wet flannel on ur boobs when they hurt (at home obv not much use in the office :p) I'm sure one will make them feel at least a little bit better xxx
Mointain - YES you can :D I was offered the choice of 2 hospitals but could actually have requested anyone of 4 within about an hours drive radius :D
EDIT - you need to tell ur MW ASAP tho coz ur scans etc will prob be held in the other pct

Right no more posts from me coz I gotta get ready for the zoo! :j

Mountain - you can but ask :) The distance could be a worry but then the nearest hospital to me here is about 30 minutes anyway - I think the midwife led centre here is actualy the top floor of the hospital LOL so I am going to try to get in there :) They won't do epidurals etc but if you end up needing more painkillers etc they can transfer you 3 floors down to the maternity ward LOL
