    Hi all

Been busy and there's also not much happening Bootswise at the mo.

Went into my little local Cancer Research charity shop yesterday to ask them to pick up eight boxes after our weekend spring cleaning. Got chatting and they asked if I'd like to donate something for their fundraising day.

Apparently cash donations are very down this year and there will be three specific national fundraising days where each shop is expected to raise a minimum amount. My little shop has a target of £180 and the Manageress, a real sweetie, was a bit sad as she didn't know how they were going to do it. Each area (which there are about 120 shops), is expected to raise £25,000 !!

Anyway, took in 6 bottles of wine and a pamper hamper today. They were very pleased and said the hamper was going to be their main fundraiser. Left my number and said if they collect the empty baskets, I will fill them.

The first fundraising day is 23 May, the second in August and third in October (I think). I've done charity hampers before and it doesn't seem to make a dent in my stash :D Thought I'd let you know - just check with your local shop.

Keeping it Boots related - hamper items all from Boots.
Cost? Minimal. Feelgood factor - priceless.

I received my healthcare mailing this morning,

    It says

    Great news

The health club 1/2 price healthcare products offer has now been extended to 31st october 2009.
Just present your advantage card at the till every time you make a purchase,
see overleaf for the range of products included,

oh no:eek: I had problems trying to get the 1/2 price to kick-in on dotcom last week. I tried to cancel my membership and re-join. Big mistake! the only option available was for over 60's:confused:I clicked on that - after searching the site for over 1/2 hour, but had second thoughts (I didn't want to get into trouble) so I cancelled my membership again:mad:

    Hi sally06

It looks like the online HC discount is gone for good now. I've just looked and mine doesn't work, I've never had a problem with it before.

The SA should be able to reactivate yours instore by scanning a barcode thingy, just feign surprise and point out that it used to work ok, she won't know that you cancelled it yourself

Nine Tails, what a great idea!

Wouldn't it be good if all the Bootsers who read this thread could do a similar thing for their local Cancer Research shop, it's such a worthy cause that is dear to so many hearts on here.

How about it, Bootsers? Together we could give the CR funds a bit of a boost this month.

Here is a LINK for everyone to find their local Cancer Research UK shop, just put in your postcode.
This is an easy thing for a lot of us to do, I'm sure everyone of us knows someone who has been touched by cancer, or is bravely fighting it themselves.
I know my stash won't miss a few items, in fact it will benefit from a good clear out :rotfl:

As someone has mentioned, there is also a voucher for 33% off James Brown haircare products in the may/june skymag (pg 41). It is good from today -- I wonder if it will scan without beeping? If so, one could probably use it with the haircare vouchers from the mailing and the acm (if none of them beep -- here's hoping!).

Also i've just had a look at the sky voucher and it seems to be a '99' starter and ends 2.00!! so it's worth 2.00 off any product (hoping)
2020 Jan: storage box,£150 pots & pans, £50 restaurant voucher, dining experience,19 tubes of Pringles Feb: £50 food giftcard,
