Not going mad F_F, I did post it! But all I could see was the web address, and assumed that is all that was there, so deleted it! :D

Will give it another go in a bit :o
    *phew*

If you post the one for message boards not for myspace etc that should work...

Ok folks, I'm in real shock as I've done the real sums:eek:
Today total debt is £28022.53:eek: a combination of ccs and overdraft.

and I've given myself 31 months to do this in!

So I need to pay at least £1000 per month, which doesn't really account for interest! That seemed impossible, but in reality I am paying about that now when I add in my PADs.

I am now off to list everything on ebay that is not nailed down and to do my mileage claim.
Every little not only helps, it will be essential!

How funny! I was just looking at my 'debt book' where i record what i've paid etc and thought the same as you! I have about 2 months worth of mileage to claim and really cannot afford not to.

I'm hoping to do a table top sale next week. Have tonnes to get rid of that wouldn't be worth ebaying but will probably go for a couple of quid at this sale - fingers crossed. Good luck with your ebay sales :D

I'm going to update my ticker at the end of each week so that i see the percentage paid increase at least a little on a regular basis! :p
One step at a time ;)

    Hi,

    Please can I join...

I am working towards being debt free by the time I am 60..:o .which is in 3 years time.  Scary, but what is more scary is having debts after being retired.

After our debts are paid off, then its serious saving for a dream cruise holiday to celebrate my 60th birthday.:T:j

    Hi elsie,
I'm sure you are very welcome.
Your thinking is the same as mine, to not only be debtfree before I retire, but to have some savings that we can enjoy.

    Hopeful,
Not sure when I will up date ticker as money paid off might also include interest. Think I will update when each statement comes in and work out (any) reduction in o/d the day before payday, if that makes any sense!

Right, I am going to start trying to make money now, or at least after a coffee:rotfl:

    Hi elsie52

    Welcome to the club!

Please let me know what date you're aiming for (Or the month and year) and how much debt you're aiming to clear and I'll add you to the list.

    Hey everyone!

I have paid another £44.40 today. Every year I get paid an annual bonus, and had kept money aside to treat myself, but had just frittered a lot of it on make up and other gubbins I didn't need.

So yesterday I took the money and paid t'other halfs visa bill for him and paid the rest into my current account. It is now on its way to Mr Barclaycard - well £40 is with the other £4.40 on its way to my savings account.

There is still some more sitting in my current account to allow me to make my PADs for the rest of the week :rotfl:

Just checked my credit card statement for my halifax card which I'm not overpaying at the moment as it's the lower interest rate so I'm concentrating on my HSBC card- anyway I have paid of a grand total of £3 after interest! Whoo hoo!:rotfl:

No wonder it takes people so long to get out of debt if your not concentrating like us... (most of the time!)

Anyways, I suppose small steps forwards are better than any steps backwards! :D

That now means I need to pay £222.95 per month, rather than £223! :rotfl:

    Morning all,

I am not sure how to update what I have paid off, etc as each month there will be interest added to the CCs and loans so the amount paid off is not the same amount the debt will be reduced by. Need to work out how best to repot what I have paid. Will continue to concentrate on PADs towards highest interest CC (OHs Barclaycard) and might even pay it off very soon (all £1,300 of it!).

Spoken to OH and he was really quite shocked about how much we owe and seems to come round to wanting to be debt free, doesn't think the Nov 2010 date is realistic, but anyhow, we will work together on clearing as much as we can. I think instead of our big 8 week holiday this summer we will stay in the lovely UK and pay some debts off and go at Christmas instead (not sure if that will be a saving but might well be as we'll go for only 4 weeks then cause of school etc). This will give me time to earn quite a bit of extra money now over the summer as well and throw it at the debts!
