    Good news!

Well, not that she is injured, but that it is nothing more serious than that, I mean!

Bet your Mum will have fun now if they've told her to make sure the dog doesn't run about too much! Ha ha .. it's blooming hard getting a chi to stay still for long!

By the way, what's her name? The doggie, I mean! *S*

Shes not getting the chance to move my sisters Akita is keeping a very close eye on her just had a call with my sister in hysterics because the Akita is breaking the treats in his mouth and dropping them in chiteha's bed under her nose! considering going down with camcorder and posting video on you tube.lol

not everyone insures no, but if your mum can't afford a vet bill of £100 (or was at least struggling with it) then i would strongly advise insurance for the future...i don't want to scare you but recent bills for simple things for my pets have been:

    tooth extraction - £350
    heart scan - £405
    constipation - £200

then there was the cat who had cancer, who i claimed £12,000 for, then the rabbit who i claimed around £3000 for...

if you need any guidance on insurance there is a very good sticky thread in this section that discusses it thoroughly.

    good luck x

seriously what is it with people on here it's not my dog and the bill was no way near £100 i just was shocked that it was £100 even before the vet done anything. and yes insurance is good but if you read all the post you would have seen my mum thought she was insured. this dog is not the only dog we have.
in fact between us we have 3 Akita s as well as chiteha and they are all insured so please no more advise on getting insurance we are well aware of the benefits but have never had an emergency like this before. and given that mum just got her she would not have been covered buy most policy's as usualy you need them running atleast a month before you can claim anyway.

no need to be rude and snappy, i was merely trying to be friendly and offer some advice in case you needed it, hence signing 'good luck x'

glad your mum's dog is OK though, that is all that matters.

chnelomi, so glad the dog is alright, it sounded quite worrying last night, I bet you are really relieved! What a crazy coincidence that she drank paint water then fell ill straight after!

It must have been really stressful for your mum after a difficult day yesterday too. It would have been awful if the little dog fell seriously ill, and you really cant be too careful especially with such a tiny pup.

ps - please don't be grouchy at lowis, she really was only trying to be helpful ;-) of course at the end of the day its up to the individual, and it sounds like you have just been unlucky.
