Are you saying that you used the Deals vouchers or the clubcard vouchers at Saisnsburys?
Either way, don't you need the actual paper vouchers to send off to Goldsmiths?
Sorry to be dense, but I've never thought of this before and still can't quite get my head around it.
He's converting his Clubcard vouchers into Deals vouchers online via Tesco's website by typing the unique codes in. Tesco then send you Deals vouchers which are specifically for use in Goldsmiths.
But the beauty of it is you get to keep the original paper Clubcard vouchers, and if you spend them outside the Tesco group, they won't know they've been redeemed electronically.
jap200, you said you sent your vouchers off to convert them to Deals vouchers for a holiday, so maybe you're unaware of the online conversion facility. They only brought it in quite recently I think.
I must admit I had no idea that Sainsburys would accept Clubcard vouchers as full payment - this is a real revelation! Mcdonag - do you think it's Sainsburys policy or did you just get a dozey cashier? Did you check if they'd accept them beforehand at the CS desk or did you just take a chance on it at the till?
I've got over £500 worth sitting in the drawer which I thought were worthless pieces of paper because I've already redeemed them online. If Sainsburys will accept them then it's going to be a very happy Christmas indeed.0 -

Taxi,
Fill yer trolleys!!
My local Mr. S has a very large banner outside the store which says "Redemm Your Tesco's Vouchers Here.
I went to CS and asked if they still accept vouchers and they said that at the moment they don't but the promotion is like the cheap fuel promo's, it is always going on & off.
When I stated that the banner is still outside they relented and said that I could use them. I asked exactly what I could buy with them and she said anything that is in store.
I said "If I had £300 pounds worth of vouchers, could I use them all?"
She thought I was joking and said "Absolutely, but you would be hard pushed to get that amount!!"
I then showed her my vouchers and she was shocked and stated that, yes, I could use them all to pay for my shop.
I bought a load of xbox games, wireless controller, quick recharger a few mags, food and clothing.
The cashier queried it and checked with CS and they ok'd it.
Happy days.
Go get some more games for your consoles or treat yer missus to an early wedding pressie.
So pleased to hear that you got your ban reinstated, well done.

I had been collecting the points for 2 years, so had a mixture of old and new vouchers, so had to send them off in the post. From now on I will just have the new ones - but I am worried about trying this - it just doesn't seem right somehow. Maybe using £5 or so at a time would be OK, but I would have thought that most stores would be very wary about letting you use hundreds of pounds worth.0 -

i think all you that try this loophole is mad, because sainsburys will need to claim the money from tesco for all vouchers used, so tesco will soon cotton on you have used the vouchers twice,
dont do it guys

that's what i thought - what do sainsburys do with the clubcard vouchers? do they send them to tesco for a refund or do they just chuck them, accepting them as a loss in order to get you as a customer?52% tight0

There's no danger of that happening. Sainsburys wouldn't even try to ask Tesco to give them the cash value of the vouchers as Tesco would just laugh in their face.
Sainsburys are simply incurring the cost themselves as an exercise in luring customers away from Tesco.0 -
