  • Hi guys, just wondered, if there's no deals you want to exchange your tesco clubcard points for what are you supposed to do with them? So far I have always used them in store but I keep seeing Martin's post saying to never do this. Surely if you are exchanging them for vouchers for days out/goods that you would not be buying anyway, just because they are worth 4 times more, then you are simply losing out on the money you could have saved instore. Am I missing something here? Should I be exchanging them for deals then selling them?
    It's definitely not definately!

I use my vouchers for deals. For example, this summer we took the girls bowling, to longleat and to thorpe park. We probably would not have gone without the vouchers, but to us it was a simple case of having a bit of fun at Tesco's expense. In my mind it is moneysaving, but can see how it might not appear so to you.

At the end of the day they are your vouchers. If you feel that the best way for you to use them is to spend them in store then that is up to you.

  • I'd agree with you that if there's nothing you actually want amongst the deals then you're just as well spending them in store. That's what I do with the majority of mine although I did get a magazine subscription and exchange a few for some of the pub deals. Always a good idea to keep eye out on the deals as they do change and they are better value for money. I also suspect that Tesco are now going to crack down on people selling them on.

Ebay them. Done this twice now, got £206 and £186 for a friends batch.

They generally make at least double their face value.

I always make it clear in my ad that some of the deal vouchers such as Goldsmiths and MFI come with the card holders name on them and are not really transferrable.

The two I sold were exchanged for MFI and Goldsmiths at the buyers request and I assume they used them with no problems at all.

I 'think' what you do is eBay them, then the buyer asks you to excahnge them for, say, days out vouchers and then you send them the vouchers.

Not 100% certain as I'm saving all my for Florida with Virgin (lots of Tesco points codes needed, lol) and so have never exchanged mine. I have just under £1000 in deals at the mo ... and counting!!!
  • I've sold a few batches and have always converted the deals first.
On my last batch, the buyer insisted that I send them the vouchers so they could convert them for some reason. I did this but they then received a letter from Tesco saying that the vouchers were not transferable and the points were credited back to my account. The buyer is now waiting for the august mailing so I can convert and send the vouchers again.

Sorry if this is the wrong place but £29.97 Freeview box has 500 extra points so 529 points = £21.16 of deals - which means the box works out at £8.81 net.

I think it's the Tecknika one.
  • Hi, is the offer on the freeview box online or instore only. Thanks.
    :hello:
  • The freeview box doesn't seem to be online. They were stacked in a cardboard display stand with "500 extra points" flashed in big letters. Strangely the one on the shelf isn't marked as 500 extra points (an oversight perhaps).

There is also 499 extra on the Prism freeview box at £49.97, so don't confuse the two.
  • And it is the technika one.
