Tesco Clubcard/Vouchers/Points/Deals - Post All Questions Here

Does anybody know the story with MFI leaving the Clubcard scheme, this has been mention on another thread that they are going end of 2006, early 2007.

Can anyone confirm this.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, did a search for MFI, but it says no matches in this thread! I think the search function needs a bit of refining.

I was saving up my points for a new sofa at MFI - never mind the fact there's rumours they might be leaving the scheme - I can't see any sofas on their website now!! Have they stopped doing them???

Has anybody used Clubcard vouchers for stays in Hotels?

Its my 40th in September and me and OH fancied a night in York possibly staying in a Marriott Hotel.

Now I know this chain is involved in the Tesco clubcard deal but when I look at the info on the clubcard site it tells me to download extra info using adobe acrobat.

Ive tried this but my computer is having none of it and wont bring the extra info up.

Is there another way of finding out how many vouchers Id need to use or do I need to ring the hotel in question to find out?

Any help on this would be much appreciated as I want to get this night sorted as soon as the August vouchers come out.

Last year we stayed at the Ramada Jarvis in Edinburgh care of Mr. Tesco.

When I looked the hotel website, we came up with quite a good offer, but when I rang to confirm and mentioned paying with Deals, the price went up quite abit. (you have to post the Deals recorded delivery to the hotel)

I would price up your stay in York by using some of the hotel comparison web sites, then phone and find out the Tesco Deal price, and decide if you really want to use the Deals for the accomodation, or use them for the sightseeing in York instead. Doing it this way it may be cheaper for you. Because the price of entry into the dungeons, or an opentop bus tour etc will be the same in Deals or cash. So I think you get better value this way!

Well it looks like my dilemma has been solved!!

We decided to go on a Thursday night so we could celebrat my 40th with the family at the weekend.

When I rang the York hotel and mentioned Tesco vouchers.......I was promptly told they only accept these at weekends:rolleyes:

Was an american woman with no personality so I told her Id call back.

Have still booked the hotel but to pay with cash as it is one of only hotels with a car park in York and will use vouchers for something else.

Finally drawn hubby into the reasons Im obsessed with points:rotfl:

He wants RAC or AA cover for the car and when I showed him we could get it for free he was impressed!:D

Just used tesco vouchers for Hilton in London. Gneral advice dont phone the number given for phoning for tesco deals as they offer higher priced deals. We called Marriott and Hilton hotels main reservation lines and asked for rates and only at the end mentioned we would be paying with tesco vouchers and had no prob booking both hotels. In the end ended up with hilton as that was abetter deal.

Also the vouchers are non transferable but i bought tesco vouchers off ebay and asked the sellers to convert them to hotel deals. Got the ebay bought tokens and mine and sent them off to hilton on glasgow with a letter advising them of the booking made directly with the hotel and got hilton vouchers back in 2 days. so a 5 star hilton stay at an average cost of £35/roomincluding b fast.

We were wondering if anyone had any codes for life insurance? We did have a code for 1000 points if you registered online (I think) but in a tidying frenzy we lost it

Sorry if this is the wrong place but £29.97 Freeview box has 500 extra points so 529 points = £21.16 of deals - which means the box works out at £8.81 net.
