I went into my local Tesco yesterday and saw they had a freezer with a large ' turkey joints from £5 ' notice covering all the freezer.I looked in and the Turkeys started from £6, prices on the top started from £6 and there was no room for any other Turkeys.I asked a sales assistant to show me the £5 ones and he agreed there was not any and agreed it looked highly unlikely there has been any as there was no room.I bought a £6 one and went to C/S thinking WOW my first R/R ( sort of ) .But came across complete lies.First they said that a turkey is not a turkey joint , even though there was not anything else in the freezer. Then as one went to check freezer another told me they had sold out of the £5 ones, just as he finished telling me that the other woman came back and said it was a mistake as they have never had them but head office had insisted the notice was put up and they will be getting them in , I obviously confronted the man about telling me they had sold out and lying to me he denied he had said it
They said the notice had now been removed .As far as they where concerned that was the end of the matter.I said that the notice was misleading and I was still not happy (waiting for my money back ) .They where not budging from there stance .I said I am sure trading standards would be interested that you are showing misleading prices .They said trading standards would not be interested ,I am wrong .They said they would refund me as a goodwill gesture and gave me ............£1  .I said oh no that is not what your policy states you are suppose to give me all my money back she said oh no we r not as we never over charged you as we never had the item to sell . I gave up and now am about to write a letter to head office .
Has anyone else felt the need to write a complaint and if so what type of response do they give ?

I think they will certainly know me next time I go in as I caused such a fuss .Guess no R/R's for me in the future not that I ever found any anyway :rotfl:
Wish I could stop editing EVERY post I make

You can't use someone elses vouchers but if you get a spare card for your mum so that all points she earns go onto your card then there'll be no problem
    I haven't got one!

If you swap the tokens for MFI vouchers do they have a cut off date ? I have some running out but we are still saving and will be for some time !

Yes they do but if you don't use them in time you can have them recredited to your clubcard.
I think I'm right in saying that, I know I did that with the theme park vouchers
    I haven't got one!
  • Have you seen the buy one get one free on Tesco CD R's and DVD R's ?- they work out at 10p and 20p per disc respectively.

Does anyone know if you can use the Deals Vouchers against annual passes for Drayton Manor? I know Alton Towers have put a stop to the Anuual Passes and now do the 5 visit ones, but they are pay-in-full. The Drayton Manor vouchers are the £2.50 = £10 in Deals type, so I'm hoping they may accept them.....

Forget that! Just bothered to read the Terms and Conditions and it states they cannot be used for Annual Memberships. Oh well, nice try!

This is my 1st posting - so apologies if this appears elsewhere. I just put it on a contact lenses thread, and then realsied that the last posting there was last June - so in case no one reads it there - I have put it here too.

I am on the Boots Vision Plan, for my monthly disposable lenses. It isn't cheap (£18.50), but I have expensive lenses due to dry eyes, and the price includes solutions and twice yearly aftercare. I priced up the on line alternatives, and there didn't seem much in it.

However, I did notice that you can now use Tesco Clubcard vouchers to join HSA. £28.50 of Clubcard vouchers buys 1 year of HSA Family Cover Level 1, which is worth £114.40. As I understand it, this means I could claim back up to 50% of my contact lens scheme costs (up to £70) - and when I rang them, they said contact lens schemes were covered within the plan. This makes it worth joining for me, but I can also claim for dental fees, osteopathy etc for myself, husband and 2 children - should the need arise over the year. I am going to join. If anyone else is interested in the scheme, the link is:

I hope this is of use to someone.
This looks really useful. Does anyone know if the yearly limit of £70 is per person or per family. I am looking at it thinking in the course of a year I will definitely need optical care , my husband and I will both pay dental bils and he has recently seen an osteopath so could be some significant savings ?
Nothing in it, nothing in it but a ribbon round it .....
