claims handling companies

I would think that because you are questioning it it is not right for you to do. You obviously do not feel comfortable with doing this so my advice would be don't do it.

How did they approach you frou frou if you had not heard about them. That in itself seems suspicious. Have they been touting for business somewhere. I would not sell a product unless I knew that it worked or that I had experience of.. But that is my view only.

I am thinking about approaching one of these claim handling firms - Conkers (Brunel Franklyn). I know i could probably do it myself but i would prefer a professional to do it to save time and me tearing my hair out.

They are sending me the forms. I await with interest how they are planning to charge me. If anyone knows of this firm or any other firm that is reputable and will not charge and up front fee then can someone pm me please? I suspect discussing it on the open forum will be a no no.

There is only one, maybe two PPI claims companies that I know of that offer a totally free service. They are able to do this by having sufficient funding to run a case to conclusion and the fees incurred in the process are levied to the lender rather than the borrower.

The advantage to using such a company is that they tend to look at all issues surrounding the PPI and the loan itself rather than just mis-selling, which means that you will normally receive more compensation than if you went after the PPI yourself through the normal channels.
