What offence would you be committing then?
Not handling as I can't see where the dishonesty would come into play.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Thanks for replying back Mandy and I wouldn't take too much offence at the cynicism of people on this thread. Sometimes when people offer to help and then find out they've fallen for a line it's hard to then take on face value the next time round I think..that's all. It's not personal

I hope the police don't take too long with the phone.
To be honest, even if it turns out not to be yours, it seems to me it has obviously been stolen from someone at least, or "found", if the wotsit number has been defaced.
I've sold items on ebay, including phones (unwanted upgrades of my own) but I would never sell anything without being honest on the listing. It seems highly likely (in my opinion) the guy who sold it to you must be dodgy..
I'm not entirely sure how it works (maybe someone else will?) but maybe you can put in a claim through ebay with the most appropiate reason and state what you DO know, that the item's wotsit (sorry not great with terminology) number has been defaced and as you suspect it has been stolen the police are looking into it.
That way you're starting your claim based on the facts in hand at the moment and they may give you more time if needed than they offer as standard for claims?
Hope things work out.
pippitypip.I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!

If that is the phone then it seems odd they are also selling the charger with it!
I have taken the precaution of blocking the buyer just in case it is our OP.
Just one of many of you helpful people slating the op although youll probably say you didnt!

and another! It's amazing just how naive people are around here. It seems quite obvious (to me) that the OP and her friend Esmerelda are one in the same - A TROLL !
Tell tell signs such as an unbelievable story, comments like 'what are your thoughts' and 'I hate to keep this discussion going' or 'I don't want to prolong this discussion' etc etc. Dead giveaways !
What a mighty fine job it has done in getting this thread to 3 pages full of nonsense ! It's a shame because this is a very useful site which as it becomes more popular is slowly being taken over by TROLLS. They must be sad people !Im known as the 'Fixer' if you have a problem, come to me and i can fix it for you.0 -

However, there is a marked difference between someone who has learning difficulties,Dyslexia etc, making mistakes, and someone who professes to be educated doing so. What it shows, is that the education system is failing,if degrees etc, can be achieved by someone who makes basic grammatical errors.
Well I am educated about to undertake a aw degree - and have Dyslexia so I do make spelling mistakes but in 3 years will be educated at Degree level.
There is also a vast difference between posting on an internet forum and writing an essay or disertation! So unless you are perfect 100% of the time then you have no reason to comment IMHO0
