Hi Swinstie
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Looks like you are doing really well. It takes some time to get the thinking to be a habit.
Great news on the 40%+ paid off :j:j. Don't forget to enjoy the milestones!

Swinstie - I am subscribed to the home management journal type thingy thread - it's full title is Home Management notebooks/journals etc. It has some great ideas. Here is the link:

Thanks SA, have subscribed to that thread and had a wee look, will read more later - looks interesting!
Well had a horribly weird day at work today, everything has been getting on top of me since coming back from holiday. I was off for a month, the girl who was covering ended up on jury duty and although she did do a lot, there was still loads I came back to. One manager wants me to book 1st aid courses (this is one of his jobs as a manager) and it's just one more thing to do, I went off on one today as he acts like I'm his PA when in fact I do work for 6 managers!
I did apologise for being a moody moo but they have been 'talking' about needing someone else full time, other girl is only part-time, for 3 years now and it's never happened, maybe they will realise they NEED someone. The part-timer is going to be in the rest of the week instead of just today and tomorrow so we are going to blitz as much stuff as possible then have a system where the work can be shared - everyone currently emails me, I even had my out-of-office on when on hols and were emails passed on?! NO!
I know I'm very lucky to have a job so not going to moan too much, I just need to learn to say no when I can't get something done. Ok rant over, ha!
Off to watch Gok now, with a cuppa and a scone, mmmmmm!0 -
Hey Swinstie - catching up with you chick.
Firstly - you are so organised and together (well you certainly sound it anyway;)). Home management of any kind has me running for the hills (and as for flylady.....lets just say I am a disaster zone!)
Workwise - I can empathise dude. Have been feeling very similar in my work. In some ways its nice to be indispensible;) but its tiring as well. I guess I am in the position of being able to delegate a bit - but I don't want to overload staff cos I know how it feels. I could happily just walk away at the moment - and I know JUST how ungrateful that sounds when we both know people who are out of work and really need to find something.
Finally - I know I'm way out of date - but 40% of your debt paid off???!!!:T:T:T:TOnward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Hi EssexHebridean & All,
I was off for a month - you would think they would forward the bl**dy emails on wouldn't you. Most were sent from a scanner so the O-O-O wouldn't work BUT I sent an email round Finance (there were loads of invoices) telling them I wouldn't be in - didn't work obviously, ha!
Anyway I have raised a request today for a shared mailbox for me and the other girl so we both have access to it and any work, I am assuming people will actually use it, but here's hoping.
Feeling better today, might have been the 2 lattes (both free - or bought for me should I say), or cos had to be ok as had an appraisal. All went ok, was just a mid-year one but must do better for the year-end one. One plus point, my sickness absence was mentioned (or lack off) as not been off for almost 2 years :j.
Well better go as OH on his way down and house is a mess, dinner not on, blah, blah! Hope everyone else is doing fab xx0 -
