I find I get a lot of these when I'm wearing layers of clothing. So I get them more in the winter than I do in the summer. I also get them more if I'm wearing tights.

I've also found that Woolworths is a very bad shop for this. I've lost count of the times I've been shocked in there so much it's put me off going in there.

Oh yeah! Woolworths. I hate it in there as I'm always getting shocks, it was even worse when I was pushing a buggy and had to use the lift. I used to have to cover my hands with my jacket sleeve to push the lift buttons.

I found Woolworths bad too, ever since they got the laminate type flooring. Didn't get bothered much before but now my little one won't take my hand in Woolworths as he gets shocks off me. I remember one of the cashiers went to give me change one day and she got a shock off me. She puts it on the counter now for me to sweep it into my hand.

I get shocks all the time, Tesco, Wilkos nearly most of the shops. I do try to avoid polyester and nylon. I only have one fleece and thats in my coat. Its the only way. I wear mainly cotton and viscose now.

I had this problem really badly - so much so that I burst into tears one day and lovely boyfiend went and bought an anti static thingy for my car - it really worked! It's a rubber thing that you attach to the underneath of your car at the rear and it touches the ground. I've had mine for over a year andwill have to get another one soon as eventually the rubber wears down and no longer touches the ground. We recently got another car and last week I got my first shock in months.
