Never thought of the mortgage interest like that chirpchirp, but you are right, it would definitely make you think twice.

It's a sobering thought especially if you imagine the person knocking on the door as a Bailiff or a Loan Shark with a baseball bat;)

What's really motivating about the daily interest rate is imagining someone coming knocking for that money everyday.
Great way of looking at it :D.

Hmm, that's around 12 chocolate bars a day. Imagine them knocking on the door every two hours for one of those, including during the night :rotfl:.

Congrats on dropping below £9 :T

I've managed to get some supply work over the past few days which means that December and January should see an increase into the ISA which is really good news.

I've been looking at the up your income by £10 a day challenge and it's made me think if there is anyway that I can do this. I have a few things I can sell but I really don't want to do this on Ebay. Any ideas?

Also, I'm sure I read of someone, it may even have been you Gallygirl, a few years ago doing tutoring. I think I'm best with teaching children phonics and learning to read generally, is there much call for tutors to work with the younger age group?

I'm starting to feel like I'm wishing my life away trying to get to the end of the mortgage. Ideally I'd like it finished off in 5 years but I can 't really see how that is possible.

This month I will get paid for work I did on Thursday and Friday of last week so that will help towards the ISA total. Then in January I will also have some wages from this week.

Grocery challenge - I've entered this again. Attempting for £175 of normal grocery spend within the month. Anything for Christmas is being counted separately. If I manage £175 then I will put £50 into the ISA savings.

Hoping for a tenner from my bank Saving the Change. I'm also hoping that they will give me some cashback offers this month that I can take advantage of. I've only been signed up for it for a few days but still not had any offers

I have a couple of bikes which I should really try to sell before Christmas. I will try and sort that out this week.

Back in 2010 I joined Quidco but didn't use it. In 2012 I used it for the first time but didn't get very much back and forgot to check if it had been paid. In April I had something expensive to buy and looked via Quidco.

I remembered tonight that Quidco existed and went on and found that they have money waiting in an account for me. Gave them my payment details, but not sure how much you have to have before they pay out. Is there a minimum?

I've become addicted to Quidco, spent ages mooching around the site!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a referral code in the middle of my diary but it's http://www.quidco.com/user/616484/1762085/ . I'm sure it will be deleted if it's not allowed.

If you read this and it has been deleted then please PM me if you're not a member and you're thinking of joining. It certainly seems worth it!

I've been to get the tree today but can't find the stand for it. We haven't needed the stand since before I started this diary as a real tree isn't very MSE and I never had a real one as a kid.

Had to get cash back which meant I ended up in Tesco in order to pay the farm for the tree. Bread that I get in Aldi was £1.45 but luckily it was £2 for two which is what I needed anyway. Chocolate oranges were a £1 but these won't count in my grocery spend and I got three bottles of Coke for three pounds. Total to add to grocery spend is £5 make a total for December £15.25.

Rather expensive three course meal this evening with a friend.

I'm struggling with Quidco and working out how to get them to pay me. I've set up or my details to pay weekly but even so it says they have no payment scheduled for me. Is there a minimum that they pay.

I have also joined Field Agent today. Has anyone got any experience of this?

Still no offers on the Lloyds cashback scheme.

    Grocery challenge doing ok.
