Looks like the sale ended 2 days ago as I just remembered where I had put the customer loyalty vouchers which they send when a sale is on. Oh well will have to wait till Christmas

I'm sure they will have better deals around then anyway.

Gallygirl and Bluemoo, I took your advice and complained. Just had a phone call to apologise and to tell me they will refund the delivery fee.

    :T:T:T Great stuff :T:T:T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Seeing as I had to sort the freezer out I have decided to have a go at the grocery challenge and see if I can try and keep November's groceries below £175 this is for me and almost two teenagers. Anything I manage below £225 I shall put towards the mortgage via my ISA.

I was quite surprised at what was in the freezers not quite as much as I expected but lots of reduced meat. I expected some other meat to be in there but must have used it. I need to get better at meal planning so that I'm eating more from the freezer and cupboards. My Mum is staying for the weekend no doubt she will whinge about the state of some it as it has been in there for a while and looks quite frost bitten, sure it will be fine in a casserole or scouse. However, it won't be the cut that she uses! :rotfl::rotfl:

I made some curry tonight but despite using lots of spices it was quite lacking in flavour so will probably add some chilli to it before freezing it. I intend to keep meat and "ready meals" ie burgers/fishfingers in the new freezer, veg in another and batch cooking in the other. May not need to use the one for veg, perhaps save some electricity, we will see how it goes.

Sounds like a good plan. Still absurdly jaelous of your 3 freezers. I wish I had gone for a tall freezer instead of a counter one.

I had the opposite of you - cleared out my freezers in septmeber and ws horrified by the amount I had squirrelled away. So, I cut my food budget by £20 so I must use up some of the stuff in the freezer.

Got a big hunk of pork belly - does anyone have any recipes recommendations?

For the pork belly I'd try the O/S board they normally have great ideas for how to use things.

Yeah - it's a bit of an odd ingredient that I don't really have a good to dish for. Usually I tend to buy lean meat.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will have to have a peek.

    Grocery challenge is going well.

Must chase the delivery refund as customer services never did get back to me. Kids are loving the ice cubes from the freezer!
