Just to add that I agree with dormouse points. My DH is self employed so could re-shuffle work so as not to miss out on wages etc.

A friend of a friend had 5 already and decided on 'definitely a last one.' The last one turned out to be the last 2! She is currently pregnant with twins. :D

My OH came with me to the very first appointment with this pregnancy - it wasn't the booking in one; I requested an appointment when I was about 5wks because I'd had a m/c a few months earlier so I wanted to get my name in the system in case it happened again. He asked lots of questions about what I should and shouldn't eat and various activities I couldn't do - just so that he could take the best care of me, I think.

He didn't come to the booking app itself because of the blood tests (he doesn't like needles in himself or someone he cares about, yet is trained to give life-saving medical treatment.. go figure!). Nothing much to tell in his family's medical history so I could do that bit myself. He's been to the scans and the consultants appointments immediately after the scans but not my separate consultants appointments which are "waiting room for an hour, see doctor for five mins" type.
