Tiscali broadband connection problems

I joined Tiscali just over a month ago, installed it onto my laptop about 2 weeks ago and the internet worked with no problems, started working from home today so checked the connection last night to find that it was not working!

Spent 30 minutes on the phone to someone at Tiscali this morning who couldn't help and told me to call back in 24hrs. This is really not a great start. Is it possible that the issue mentioned above with the tunnel/2012 olympics is still causing issues today, 10 days afterwards? Is anyone else still not connected because of this?

I'm kicking myself now that I have joined Tiscali and wish I had done my research properly beforehand and read all the forums about connection problems, as I now have 11 months left with them before I can change!

I made that mistake once. Any ISP is good when it works, as so many people tell you they never have problems. But when you do have a problem or if you move house, that's when you realise you've made a bad choice.

As I always say, don't be taken in by the cheapest deal. You soon lose money when you need to phone tech support.

And if you're considering joining an ISP, make a dummy call to their tech support to make sure: 1. you can get through (reasonably) quickly and 2. that it's not in India.
