Its annoying how this became all about someones grammar, spelling and punctuation than the actual original topic that it was intended for, as although I don't feel many people will come here, share ideas that they believe will make them their fortune (as if we are honest who wouldn't keep it to themselves), I do feel that this thread can be useful for people to share bits and pieces to help each other get into business for themselves etc or to warn them off ideas that went wrong, or where mistakes were made in the past.
I am currently building a website for a business consultancy website, which I am hoping to use to build upon the experience gained through my current employment as an e-business consultant and studies in a Business and Management degree to help more business get off the ground. It will be a free service and I am curious if anyone here feels they could make use of my time, I have written many a business plan, reports, website appraisals, given advice on search engine optimisation to many companies and will be offering a free service once everything is in place. Even if you just want some advice on the copy used to sell your products online, or the spelling in your catalogue or a template for your website, what would be useful to help people go from idea to business, other than tons of free money of course...0 -
JP- I wish you all the best in getting your invention/product up and running. Hopefully all the nit picking will stop now and some real advice will be forthcoming.
P.S. My spelling is awful

Hi
I just picked up on this thread today.
My first stop would be to jot down my idea, whatever it is, on a piece of paper and post it to myself recorded delivery.
I'd then visit my local Business Link office where free advice is available to point you in the right direction. If there is any patent, copyright or Intellectual Property involved get on to www.ipo.gov.uk where you'll get loads of advice. Don't forget to get a confidentiality letter signed by anyone you talk to if there is anything you need to protect.
That should be enough to get you going, good luck.0 -
Would you get on one of Branson's planes if it said "Virgen Aerlines" on the side of it? I wouldn't.
A basic grasp of the English language is key if you want to be successful in business. FACT.0 -
Come on lets ignore the mistakes and move on, enough people have mentioned it now and its just getting a bit silly. Its making a good thread idea into a silly arguement that there is no need to start.
Business Link are top notchbut I might be a little biast.

I think the best Idea for me at least is a network marketing business... I work for 1 company, as well as my family, and we are doing very well... friends of mine are doing extremely well, and the only downside are the negative people who dont understand how it works and mistake it with illegal stuff... oh well who cares... show me a better way of making a decent living... - so thats my idea... enterprenurial (how ever u spell it)0

what you need is drive not spelling and that is why ricky boy did so well he stuck at it and gave it his all, (i know i can not spell so shhh)
any way i was thinking of seting up website that sells handmade baby things, or maybe customised. i was thinking best place to start would be esty? see if people like it? then what idk there is a craft fair near by once a month i could try selling a few things there. do u think that this is a good idea?(i quite like that i can not spell for toffie makes things more 'intresting' to read lol) is there anything eles you would sujest?0 -
I think you should just give it a go selling at the fairs etc since its a method of testing the market that is undervalued. Give it a go and see if people buy, if they do look into how often people search for your items on the internet and if its a lot, based in the country, then you are on to a winner.0
