I'm sure there are lots of customers who maintain their agreements (no matter what ridiculous apr they agreed to) and not had a problem.
It's only when the customer stops repaying they get shirty. to be fair on the company, they only take on people who are likely to stop repaying, hence the high apr, so they already have a pretty robust mechanism for chasing payments.
Courtesy and politeness is not likely to work with many defaulters, they would simply ignore the polite requests, so a strong arm tactic is required, as can be seen from the many posts on here.
Unfortunately this is not true. I have a loan with Financial Plus as I was unable to get a loan elsewhere. I have not missed any payments or defaulted at all as I was aware they were slightly dodgy when I first took out the loan.
They have still taken money from my bank account on my debit card and totally cleared me out.
When I complained they were less then helpful, my debit card details have been linked to someone elses account who had defaulted.
I have cancelled my card, but been told by the bank that they can still take money due to visa regulations! I now only leave enough money in the account to cover the direct debit so they cannot take any more. I only have 3 months left to pay on the loan, but am still concerned there will be problems once I have paid it off.
PLEASE DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM, YOU WILL HAVE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE, I DO NOT TRUST THEM!0 -
Hi all, I must say that I appear to be one of the very lucky ones, I am now on my 3rd loan with FP, I have never had any problems with any of them, I can always retrieve a balance from them I receive a letter every 6 months quoting my payments (which I always check against my bank statement) and the apr is getting a lot lower each time. In fact, before reading this I would have recommended them to everyone.0

FP have had me too
paid regularly for 10 months, nothing missed

They will not accept any money offered by any debt management company, believe me we are in a battle with that at the moment! They also will try and badger you to pay a few hundred of what you owe just to get your bank details again! Any company that offers a up front payment with loans are loan sharks!!0

Any idea best way to settle a debt with FP?
DD Cancelled due to unauthorised debit card payments.
Debit card changed also.
Thionking of settling debt with a prepaid debit card as this is not linked to my bank account,
sound ok?0 -
^^ sounds fair, load a cheap pre-pay mastercard and pay them with that. Then just bin it."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

Hi People,
I have just joined this site, my friend recommeded me to it.
I am finding it extremely useful, i have currently defaulted on a loan with Financial Plus and Welcome Finance aswell as a few other creditors.
However Financial Plus seem to be the comapny who are continuously chasing the debt even though it only is around £700. They have told me that they will be taking legal action against me... Does anyone know if this is just a threat?
Princess Beautiful im intrigued, you say you worked for them for one day, what was your position? Why did you only last one day? Was it that insufferable?
