I got a loan from this company financial plus and they asked for my card details including the last three numbers on the signature strip, when i queried, i was told it was for identification purposes only. I got the loan and set up a direct debit, but then the second one came off on the wrong date, in advance to be precise, then i called them to say i will cancel the direct debit instruction if they do this in future again. Although this direct debit was paid, they went on to empty my account by £600 using my card details. I did not authorize them to do this, could anyone with legal expertise advice me if this is legal ? I was misled to part with card details. My family was left starving. Everyone else there be wary if you are going to apply for a loan with these guys.0

OMG they have done the exact same to me, and if any money goes into my account i think they are just going to take it out. I phoned them up and got this women claiming to be a manger she was slurring and sounded drunk. She said i would not be refunded. But iam goin to the citizens advice this is totally ILLEAGAL and they shouldnt get away with it. They were only meant to take £50 out my account but the took a further unauthorized £160 leaving me totally skint till end of month. What a mistake i made going with this company!!!0 -
This rip off firm offer you a loan but insist they have your debit card details, when they do not set up a direct debit properly they say you have defaulted without even contacting you and take the full balance from your account through your debit card, the first you know about it is when you have no money at the cash point. When you complain they say you can't speak to a supervisor as you have been abusive and they will not contact your bank to discuss if the direct debit was set up in the first place.
Beware!! Bunch of cowboys and theives0 -

All,
I've recently had a loan from Financial Plus. Got myself into a bit of deep sh*t in the past. Nothing major, just a few past indiscretions. Nobody else was touching me. I got bitten for paying broker fees as well. When I spoke to these guys they said that if I'd come straight to them I would have avoided all that. They did charge me a tenner for the processing of the application but at least they're a lender.
The rates are not the cheapest you'll find on the high street but in my case, the price of NOT getting my hands on a grand far outweighed the problems that I would have had to face if I hadn't got it.
In short, they're not cheap, but you don't need a guarantor like those FLM jokers and they are a decent company to deal with (at least that's my experience to date.)
I think you can take the text highlighted in bold with a pinch of salt given all the other comments. Clearly a dodgy payday firm who glory in the misery of their customers and are obviously only one step up from the guy in the black suit who comes around carrying a large baseball bat and offers to take his money out of your hide
Avoid like the plague, take a look at their website, they don't even publish their interest rates :rotfl:0 -
Hi,
I had a loan from Financial Plus, I missed one payment and my god my phone didn't stop ringing and when I stop answering they started calling my work number. They are bunch of bullies, if you know what is good for you avoid these people by any means. They wanted to talk to my boss at work to find out why I missed a payment. How embarrassing!!0 -
djcoppula has writen positive spin about Financial Plus in all 15 of his previous MSE posts and also seems to be very knowledgeable on Trust Deeds (which relate to Scotland where Financial Plus are based)
Is there a way to get such obvious repeat marketeers banned or at least confined to more appropriate parts of the site? All,

Sounds to me that the people complaining about this company are people who have not stuck to a legal agreement therefore defrauding the company in question.
Why take the moral high ground now?0
