Sounds to me that the people complaining about this company are people who have not stuck to a legal agreement therefore defrauding the company in question.
Why take the moral high ground now?
You'd be surprised just how many people on here agree with precisely that statement.
I'm sure there are lots of customers who maintain their agreements (no matter what ridiculous apr they agreed to) and not had a problem.
It's only when the customer stops repaying they get shirty. to be fair on the company, they only take on people who are likely to stop repaying, hence the high apr, so they already have a pretty robust mechanism for chasing payments.
Courtesy and politeness is not likely to work with many defaulters, they would simply ignore the polite requests, so a strong arm tactic is required, as can be seen from the many posts on here.Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling0 -
i am currently dealing with the financial services ombudsman who has lodged a complaint with these people for taking over £500 out of my account despite the fact i have written documents from them saying they were going to take significantly less
when phoning up to ask why i get swore at, told my documents are fake and that nobody of the name i have works at the company... before he called me up 2 weeks later to ask for more money
the financial services ombudsman has sent a letter to them in complaint on my behalf seeing as i get abused whenever i call, and shock horror - no reply from the jesters
if anyone else has any such problems please pm me and i will give all details to the ombudsman when going through the full complaint procedure - im sure the more evidence i have the less chance these clowns have of getting away with this again in the future0 -
I am at present being harrased by Financial Plus, they claim that either myself or my bank cancelled the direct debit which means that I am now in arrears with the agreement. Due to other commitments I was unable to make up that payment, this was not greeted well.
I can understand them wanting their payment and being concerned about my ability to repay them.
The problem starts when you refuse to give them card details. Until that point they were reasonable when I explained that someone had accessed my account without my permission and taken every penny I had and for that reason I was not willing to give out my new card or bank details to anyone but would be more than willing to pay by giro slip or postal order. I was told that this method of payment was unacceptable.
This company has started calling my work demanding to speak to my boss. I've had to switch my phone off. I want to pay this I not refusing to pay, but I will not give them access to my account again I don't trust them. Should I just send them a postal order for the monthly payments anyway?0 -
I first came across FP a few months ago. They had opened a payday loan shop in Glasgow and I needed a small amount to tide me over. By coincidence the owner was in the shop when I went in and chatted away to me. I explained that I had built up a few bad debts over University and now that I was working full time in a good job I hoped to rebuild my credit history.
He suggested I take out an instalment loan with FP. I knew the interest rates were awful but I could afford the monthly payments and it was helping repair my credit rating.
I took an inital loan of 1200. Every month, without fail, the payment was made with no problems.
Then mid July I received a call to say they had identified me as a good customer, payments always on time blah blah blah, and they wanted to offer me a new loan of 5K at better interest rates.
To qualify I had to pay off the total amount of my existing loan (1300). I did this on my payday, virtually emptying my account in one fell swoop.
All day I chased the guy I was dealing with, but he always seemed to be in meetings, and when he did find time to e mail me, told me everything was fine and loan was going ahead.
Finally at 4.30, a receptionist (!!!) told me I was not getting the loan (and I have to mention she was the rudest person I have EVER dealt with in any company). I demanded to speak to a manager and she refused. Told me they had 'changed their criteria' and, as I had £146 in arrears on my credit card and a one off payday loan with their competitor they had refused me. Not only for the 5K but for any loan!! This has pushed me from 'on the way up' financially to the brink of disaster. Unable to pay rent, council tax, electricity/gas and not even enough to get to work for the rest of the month.
All this despite the fact that the payments for the new loan were £2 a month LESS than the previous payments which had all been paid on time.

Exactly the same thing happened to me last month word for word. Left me with nothing to feed the family. Luckily, I have managed to get back to some kind of decent position by taking out a ridiculously high APR loan with a more reputable company. Financial Plus are horrendous. Full stop.0

I think this has just happened to me!
Instead of being back on my feet feel I am now in deep poo!!! Never missed a payment, always on time. This story has turned me a pale shade!!!0 -
^^ haven't I seen that exact post before?? Seems odd with a first poster posting word for word.
Anyway....
So you didn't actually need a loan at all, you just thought this company were being kind to you??
Take the hard lesson. ALL of these companies are looking at YOU as easy money, all you are to them is pound signs. They couldn't give a monkeys about how good you are or what a great customer you are. All you are to them is someone easy to take money from, NOTHING MORE.
They are obviously winding up or just finding less people daft enough to use them so are harvesting in their debts, a quick phone call to the easy meat and voila, cashflow solved.
Despite all you have discovered, you STILL feel aggrieved and consider yourself a good customer.
NEVER EVER EVER deal with these ripoff companies no matter how many times they tell you how great you are!!!0 -
Apples
I was looking for a loan and assumed they had my details given to them through an internet broker.
My situation was pretty similar to the post I copied. I had been paying regularly for the past 16 months. For what it is worth I do feel a complete fool but I am sure you never came to gloat!0 -

Not at all, just trying to ensure you learn from this and don't make the same mistake again.0
