Has anyone heard of 'Financial Plus' before??

22 Manor Place.
Edinburgh, EH3 7DS
t: 0844 335 1095
financialplus.co.uk

They've recently contacted me saying that I was approved for a 1K loan, all I had to do was send them my pay slips, recent bank statements and pay a £10 admin fee.

Upfront fees always worry me, so I thought I ask around and see if anyone has had any joy with them...cheers

They are real, but new .. Companies House lists them as...
    ===========

    Name & Registered Office:
    FINANCIAL PLUS LIMITED
    22 MANOR PLACE
    EDINBURGH
    UNITED KINGDOM
    EH3 7DS
    Company No. SC349066

    spacer.gifspacer.gifspacer.gifspacer.gifStatus: Active
    Date of Incorporation: 24/09/2008

    Country of Origin: United Kingdom
    Company Type: Private Limited Company
    Nature of Business (SIC(03)):
    None Supplied
    Accounting Reference Date: 30/09
Last Accounts Made Up To: (NO ACCOUNTS FILED)
    Next Accounts Due: 24/06/2010
    Last Return Made Up To:
    Next Return Due: 22/10/2009 ============

And the Royal Mail only list the following organisations at 22 Manor Place

    """"""""""""""

    """"""""""""""

In otherwords they only started existing 24th September 2008, less than 7 months ago. i.e. they don't sound like a sound, secure & dependable Financial Institution with many years of successful lending behind them.

My guess is someone may have paid the Solicitors to register them as a company.

Sounds fishy to me: I could of course be wrong.

    Good luck!

So I thought I sus it out...

My credit is not that bad but can't get loans from my banks because of exisiting debt...:o

Your last line is possibly the sign as to why you are now facing dealing with an unheard of lender whose interest rates, let alone trading address, are not even mentioned on their website. Don't even bother is my advice.

Non bank unsecured credit, apart from doorstep loans, is extremely difficult to come by at the present, escpecially since the near collapse of Welcome. You need to tread very carefully before signing up for anything.

    All,

I've recently had a loan from Financial Plus. Got myself into a bit of deep sh*t in the past. Nothing major, just a few past indiscretions. Nobody else was touching me. I got bitten for paying broker fees as well. When I spoke to these guys they said that if I'd come straight to them I would have avoided all that. They did charge me a tenner for the processing of the application but at least they're a lender.

The rates are not the cheapest you'll find on the high street but in my case, the price of NOT getting my hands on a grand far outweighed the problems that I would have had to face if I hadn't got it.

In short, they're not cheap, but you don't need a guarantor like those FLM jokers and they are a decent company to deal with (at least that's my experience to date.)

can i be so bold as to ask what the monthly payments are, thank you

I have just paid my £10 fee to this company. not really sure if I should trust them or not but figured its a small amount to loss if they dont come up with the goods. I also have an application pending with The Credit People and stupidly paid £49 to them but hoping to cancel the application and try and get my money back - although looking on this website, not gonna hold my breath!!! anyone else got any feedback on these two firms - just not sure if I am being very silly trusting either. HELP!!!!!!!!

Yes, sorry to say you are being silly.

Lenders do not charge upfront fees. Fees can be added to the loan if absoluely necessary.

Basically these companies advertise in such a way as to attract those that know, deep down, they are not going to get a loan, at least not a conventional interest one.

They make their money charging fees to pass your details on or tell you that you have been unsuccessful because people in that situation are desperate enough to believe that they can help and because they have a presentable website and trained staff in a call centre they must be legit.

Case in point, my wife was told that she could have a £5,000 loan by Advantage Loans when she did not even have indefinite leave to remain in the UK, a National Insurance number, bank account or job....

This was was provided she paid a £49.50 "processing" fee.... Of course she didn't once I got on the case....

Sorry to put a downer on things....
