    I have a dilemma.

One of my shares has risen over the last day or so from a break even to a £234 profit.....if I creamed the profit off, that would clear most of my gas/electric bill I got the other day. I'd have to sell 200 of them, I'd have 350 left...

I'm not sure whether to jump in and take the profit or let it ride for a couple more days to see if the profit goes up to £300 to wipe the whole bill.....my share judgement has so far been appalling and my other lots of shares are sitting with a bit fat red minus sign in front of them and have been for months now. The last time I had a share rally was Northern Rock - the week before they were de-listed, they went into a decent profit for about 2 hours and I thought - excellent - I'll wait..... I am really rubbish at this share choosing malarkey.........I also have Lloyds TSB ones and possibly the worst 2 gold mining shares in the world......all 3 are dragging their knuckles along the floor towards ending up being worthless.....

Add the tomatoes to the jelly before it sets and you have a posh tomato terrine :rotfl:

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

That's the problem with shares, it's literally like gambling.

Instead of asking what you have to gain you should be asking what can I afford to lose?

I would sell and pay the bill.
What you have now is there, it's guaranteed. Sure you could hang on but what if you lose what's there now?
