I think it's nice to look at a few. I really like cosmo brides. It's quite pricey but reading it makes me feel really 'bridey' and excited and it gave me a few good ideas.

I haven't bought or even looked at any (nice to know reading this thread that I'm not missing out)

I had a fair old idea how I wanted my wedding to go, and I just went with it. Didn;t need any mags encouraging me to spend a fortune.

This site has helped me with how to make flowers, where to buy my dress (would never have bought from Landy if I hadn't read all about it on here) and a hundred other things.

    Who needs mags :j

I do quite like 'wedding ideas' and t £2.99 it is one of the cheapest ones.
It has given me some great ideas that I have been able to make my own ( saved money on them basically!!).
They have a real weddings section that shows several couples big days which I love as I am very nosey and again has given me fab ideas!!!!

    Hope this helps!!!

Wedding Ideas gets my vote - I use it as a wedding planner and I know other wedding planners who recommend it. I use it for ideas, for potential suppliers etc. etc. because as a planner you can never have too many ideas even if it means pinching someone elses:D

they are addictive! I sometimes buy them on train journeys. but then you realise every other page is an advert (if not more), and you realise it won't keep you occupied for as long as you thought!
I found it useful to look at wedding dresses when i was trying to decide, not so much "ooh i must have that exact dress" but "ooh i like that style, i like that neckline" etc etc.
I really like the "real life weddings" pages, I'd just buy a magazine full of those!
Their budget ideas are ridiculous though sometimes. At the end of the day they are very much just a portal for advertisers. Even the pages that aren't actual adverts, are covered in products with a note about where you can buy them.

Borrow the mags off someone else if you can!

They are totally addictive and they just make you want things you can't afford!!! I must admit, I've bought quite a few, but morg_monster is right, they are full of adverts. I thought they were a good starting point though if you didn't have a clue where to start (like me!) and I picked up a few nice ideas from the real weddings sections. HTH :)

I've only brought one magazine - seems a shame not to buy one when you are a bride to be! It has given me some ideas...but they aren't exactly moneysaving are they?! The dresses all cost a fortune and if the magazines had their way, we'd all be on £30k budgets and having every last wedding accessory available....you have to stop yourself getting too sucked in!

I bought quite a few when I first got engaged in 2006! I found that the most useful one was 'wedding ideas' - not as expensive, got lots of real weddings and lots of ideas and the desses etc that are featured are not too pricey!

Me too, I tend to look in there for ideas and then go and buy very similar stuff from ebay for a fraction of the(ir already cheaper than the other wedding magazines) cost :D Have only bought two copies in nearly a year though!

That project wedding site is great. It's given me some great ideas for table centrepieces that won't cost the earth....
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
