  • Hi, you can buy Ace bleach in Homebargains for 99p, if you have a store near you. If all else fails, brake cleaner will remove anything from anything without damaging the fabric. I've used it to get rid of grease and even paint.

Found this when I googled the stain

Rinse in cold water, then soak in cool water with 1/4 cup detergent per gallon of water. Spray with a prewash product; launder with a bleach that is safe for that fabric

Other than that - my mum swears on a little washing up liquid everytime !
So little money - so much time
  • Thankyou so much

Off to cover it in washing up liquid ... then i shall soak it and then see if i can put a dribble of bleach in with it

Right off i dash ..... Thanks again

  • Yup - I always use washing up liquid on food stains, and cold water as hot can set the stain.

yes washing up liquid was the only thing that worked for me when i got tomato soup over a light coloured dress, i rubbed it in with a brush and left to soak in water overnight before putting in the machine to wash, it was the only thing that got it out (i tried washing it in the machine twice, without sucess, before my gran told me about the washing up liquid)

    A cautionary word... :)

Don't put the shirt into a tumble drier (if you use one) until you've thoroughly checked it after the wash. The heat will often set stains so that you'll have one heck of a time getting them out.

So if it's still stained - just put it in a bucket / bowl of cold water until you can get back here and see what else we can do to help.

    HTH :)
