Hi:j
Do all mobile phone providers charge vat on each account. I have a contract with orange and 3 contract sims for my children but I am finding that I am paying more each month than I thought as orange charge vat on each telephone number even though they are all on one account.
Is this the norm do they all charge vat?

Whatever service Orange supplies then 15% VAT is payable. Whether it be 1 phone or 4......0

They are not charging me 15% on the total they charge me individually, even though I pay by direct debit the total. Is that right do all other providers charge vat.0

They will be charging the VAT correctly - your bill for each phone will have ex VAT charges shown, then VAT applied at 15% to the total charges for each phone.
Paying by dd doesn't affect the VAT element of your bill.0 -
What do you think they should be charging and what are they actually charging?.....0

VAT will be on the total amount of the bill. It is a legal requirement and there is no getting around it. So whether they charge it on each account or on each telephone number, it will amount to the same thing.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

The only way you can get around VAT is if you are a VAT registered business and are using the phone for business use, then you can reclaim the VAT. Otherwise, it's just another money spinning trick for the government that you can't avoid.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
