thanks for finding this will have a read through0

thanks im hoping this is the issue and ive posted in the norton boards. i have XP sp1 though and not 3 which is where the issue is. but i guess its more of an issue with the norton thats to picky than what the actual system is?0

Erm ~ you have service pack 3 not 1
Regardless ~ Norton has let a SHED load of infections through so id more concerned about its lack of security than its false positives:idea:0 -
yeah thanks i just realised that re the service pack. looked at my original cd and it says sp 1 but then i can see sp3 is on my control pannel. i also has an issue with a key logging from what i think was a messenger file but that was around 25 march and its not happened again. cant say the exact file as it was deleated off norton when i reinstalled it. but aslong as i dont get it again.
anyway a least it seems the issue was a false pos. well as much as i can be sure. its still worrying though. at least i have frozen all my onlicne accounts anway. just not sure when ill have the courage to use them again!
btw ive downloaded and uptodate windows messenger so my AV can scan it. but cant seem to find how ti uninstall the old messenger i cant see it on the control pannel. any ideas0 -
also is there a way of solving the missing padlock issue? thats a concern to me aswell0
