They don't charge £100 for a bounced cheque. Wow people are so ignorant nowadays.
I didn't actually say I thought a bounced cheque charge was £100. If you read my post, I said it could've been a bounced cheque charge that had been gaining interest for a while, taking the total to £100.
I'm also definitely not ignorant. Ever heard the saying 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'? Or are you too ignorant to pay attention to the forgotten virtues of good manners? :rolleyes:0

I am blunt. Simple as that. I don't like to tell people what they want to hear but rather say the simple truth (even if it means being a little harsh!)
By all means, if the OP had said cheque bounced etc. and I am now overdrawn by £65 or something I would agree with you. However, HSBC charge £25 for overdraft one off, every year. So that means they OP would now need another £75 worth of charges. DD bouncing is about £30? So the OP would need 3 of these... all bouncing... over 1 week?
Very few people have 3 DDs coming out within a week or each other.
Interest isn't added daily either, so unless the OPs been like this for a month....
By all means, I would look at this from another direction if that was possible, but chances are, what I said is correct. I was stating what the problem was, I don't see how thats being harsh? The OP says they didn't spend the money, I beg to differ.
The OP clearly isn't coming back to give us an update so I guess this thread should be left alone.
Also the quoted bit wasn't in response to you....0

Fair enough. I presumed you were speaking to me as I mentioned the £100 and the bounced cheque charge in the same sentence.
Honestly, I knew the OD charge for HSBC was £25 (check my signature, I'm quite au fait with their charges!), but it was just a suggestion and something for the OP to look into.
You are blunt. But you can also be quite rude. In my opinion, calling someone ignorant isn't being blunt, it's being rude! Maybe you didn't mean to be rude, but that's my interpretation of your post.
Anyway. As you say, looks like the OP isn't coming back to clarify so you're right, let's drop it. 0 0
