Thanks for the info on RAM upgrade. Another quickie if I may :-
If it come sith 256Mb what is the respective speed / etc. increase from adding another 256 or 512Mb and will a 512Mb increase give the full increased performance sice it is 'paired' with the existing 256 ? Also any tips on best make of RAM for this ? Thks !0 -
No wonder Dell don't want to sell them - have you seen how many people are profiting from this on ebay?
That goes totally against what this forum stands for, I hope the people that are buying genuinely do need a cheap laptop.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -

I can confirm this seems to work fine in inspiron 1300 along with dell supplied stick, no issues here.0 -
Is there definetly no wifi card?0

There is a wifi card in the bottom of it - next to the memory - works brilliantly!0

Yeah in yours it does but that's from the earlier offer I believe, I think CL is looking for confirmation whether this latest 'Weekend Special' also includes it as there is no mention in the ad in the paper and someone further up this thread mentioned the salesman said WiFi would be extra.

...doesn't mention wi-fi, but does mention a 56k modem (which they all have anyway) ...nice little upgrade at a not so little price?
inae but the internal wireless is neater and probably just as effective as a usb dongle. sure they used to charge about £6 for a wireless card, probably £30 with this offer. Maybe that is the issue that people should be complaining to watchdog about - charging a higher price for the same upgrade if the system price is lower??0 -
I have managed to order one of these finally (after about 5 goes)
I had to tell them my call was being recorded and that if I didnt get the deal I would be sending it to the managing director and to trading standards
it does come with a wifi card buillt in already (but they do try and charge you for it for some reason)
hope this helps
