They do - how else can you explain them still being in business after ripping customers off for this length of time?!
They get customers to sign up - provide really poor service yet still manage to post massive profits - I'd say they are very good at what they do!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -

To the original poster, the contact number for Compaq [font=verdana, arial, helvetica][size=-1]0870 607 3366. Give them a call - if the product has been wrongly labelled, it has probably happened to a batch of them and they'll know about it.

Now I'm confused - it mentions a 6 in 1 card reader on the support page but not on the specs?!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0

On the Compaq Presario V4200 Notebook PC series - Specifications page, it states under the System Features section Memory Card Device | V4260EA: 6-in-1 Memory Reader (xD, SD, Smart Media, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Multimedia Card).
The V4260EA is the next model up from the V4215EA. I would suspect Hewlett Packard have cocked up here and stuck general V4200 spec stickers on both V4215 & V4260 Notebooks, without clear differentiation on what the model contained in the box actually consists of.
The HP website is ambiguous so it would not surprise me to find the boxes stickered as such.
traceya89 did you 'ask' PC World for a Notebook with a card reader or did you just go by the sticker. If you 'asked' you have another angle in that PC World did not supply goods fit for purpose. This should go hand-in-hand with any advertising ambiguity when approaching PC World.-=Mr-J=-0 -
Mr J could be correct here. Do you still have the box that says a card reader is supplied ... by any chance does it say something like '(4260EA only)' ... this is quite common on electronic goods where they describe the top of the range on the box and then caveat out each feature by model number with a tick box elsewhere showing which exact model is in the box.
If you want an internal card reader then these are avaialble for under £15 and just plug into the PCMCIA slot. Which particular memory cards are you wanting to read? If you have £20 to blow then this can be fixed (assuming that rest of the computer is to your satisfaction).
Just a couple of examples from the first site I looked on
external 7-in-1 £6.99
external 12-in-1 £7.49
PCMCIA 4-in-1 £14.99
