You mean O2? If so check their website https://www.o2.co.uk, they are often giving free sims away.
Wins for 2022: Hydratem8 Water bottle, diary, flowers, Good food show tickets, childrens books x3,
Thanks to all who post the comps & please let the comping fairy sprinkle dust on my entries!

BT Mobile haven't taken on new customers in a while, except as part of their broadband packages with BT To Go. See https://www.bt.com/mobile

They passed all their customers, old and new, to O2.

BT Mobile and an old company known as Genie combined several years ago to form what is known as O2 today.

So, buy an O2 sim hoping your phone's unlocked (if not, you could easily get it unlocked for about £2 from most Internet cafes, though wouldn't be a freebie).

BT mobile actually piggyback on to the vodafone network and so a vodafone sim should work fine.

There seems to be some confusion between BT mobile which is a virtual network running on the vodafone network and BTCellnet which is now O2

Absolutely, and the thing about BT Mobile is they are shortly to allow free 0800 calls to bring that in line with their landline service.

Anyone who managed to get a free BT Mobile SIM card with £10 credit is laughing at the moment.

Just to finally clear this up! BT Cellnet became O2 quite a few years ago, then, not long after this, BT started up again, calling themselves BT Mobile. This still exists

    BUT:

    http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_catpage.php?p_sid=mJXrHLuj&cat_lvl1=760&cat_lvl2=854&p_cv=2.854&p_cats=760,854

It is closed to new customers. It is no longer possible to get new sim cards. However existing customers will still be on this network.

I don't think you can get a SIM card per se, hence the comments in my post above.

I stand to be corrected but BT Mobile seems to be either contract only, or PAYG as part of some other BT package.
