Thanks Grateful - it is a horrid brown/horsehair atm but structurally sound. It had to come in through the floor as it would neither fit up the stairs or through the door. There used to be a second set of stairs that came up into this bedroom which we took out - it came up through the hole before we put a new floor in, ditto the bathroom suite.

Spirit - Just wanted to say how impressed I am with your weight loss. I bet that takes some commitment!.

Hi AnW’s hope you had a great time in York. It is my favourite city and I haven’t been there for too long. Did you go to Betty’s Tea Room? I’m so jealous of you going there! I’ve been to World of James Herriot, and to Eden Camp I think – I remember going to a place that smelt funny when I was quite young and I think it is Eden Camp! Great about W riding his bike!

We didn't go to Betty's, in fact i is somewhere we will have to go to another time :) Already thinking when can we go back to York!

Toots I realised this morning that Mum and Dad mowed the grass for me while we have been away :D I am a very lucky girl. Just need to get some bed rolls for W's tent and they can then go camping on the back garden tomorrow night :D:D:D

Hex - you're on - 50 things for me, 500 for you. I will itemise. I expect you to do the same! And I'll make sure mine doesn't include '10 fag ends from the ashtray'.

You're doing really well on your house. As GFH said - the chaise longue is purty - I've always wanted one of those to drape myself over with a book wearing something long and flowing....
