I have found my policy details and my first one was taken out in sept 2001 putting £10 a month in and the second one was taken out in Feb 2002 again with £10 a month rising to £20 each. So I have paid in for 7 years and 6 years. I have only read the first 8 pages of this at the moment I know that someone said that they have been fined for mis selling. Is that right if so what does that mean for me if anyone knows.

Thanks for any advice that can be offered it would be grateful received.

No, they have not been fined for mis-selling. These products were bought direct and not sold. Therefore no mis-selling can take place.

AXA made a mistake on the disclosure documentation which they were fined for and that has given a loophole allowing people to quote that mistake to get their money back.

  • I came accross this thread, due to some good news....that being my wife is pregnant, and we are due our first baby towards the back end of this year.

The reason I was looking was for answers as I don't really understand what I should/shouldn't be getting back as one of the ways of accomodating the cash costs of baby will be to cancel my four axa policies which total £100/month investment.

I am hoping that I am able to write to axa and get a nice refund plus interest where I can invest into cash isa the poorly invested money thus far.

firstly thanks to all the people contributing to this thread, it's been a long read but very worthwhile, perhaps some of you would be able to help me in the construction of a letter that will give me the maximum return.

    A little info

    Policy 1 - Started @ 10/month and matures 27/08/2012
    Policy 2 - Started @ 10/month and matures 22/02/2015
    Policy 3 - Started @ 10/month and matures 04/03/2017
    Policy 4 - Started @ 20/month and matures 28/04/2018

By my calculation, this month I will have seen a total accross all policies being saved at £6720

I live in the hope that the advice on this forum can help me, and I thank you once again for what's been posted so far.

Just a quick question how long does the whole process take from sending the first letter to receiving a refund of some kind.
