Know anywhere where I can get hold of these 6.5% fixed rate bonds?:D
Halifax WebSaver - 6.62% 4 Year, 6.52% 5 Year

There is a slight risk, however, that they might not be around by the time you get your Axa cheque.
• I have a moneyback plan and I can't cash in until it has run for 10 years. July 2009 is the earliest I can do anything with it.
THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D

Was someone in the marketing department playing a bad joke on customers?

When you think you've heard it all from these abominable "with profits" salespeople, along comes another gem.
• Just got my money back this week! the full £4325 over 10 years.....

My Advise to everyone is don't hesitate, get out quick before its too late.

With regards to the Halifax web savers. is it better to get them on short terms rather than the year terms since the perecntage is not that much different. I am thinking of a 3 months or 6 months term.
TermAERGross paNet pa3 months6.27%
6.13%
4.90%
6 months6.71%
6.60%
5.28%

And i just wonder what will i actuall get back frmo these accounts? I have a regular saver with them but i am getting only £113.33 interest with them? the interest rate with the regular saver is
AERGross paNet paAll Balances7.00%
7.00%
5.60%
and the max investment is £250/month so £3000/year If i am getting a 5.60% Net. shouldn't i be getting £168? and with a deduction of 20% tax will give me £134.40?? I really don't understand how it works? Is my bank having me on?
• I too have just stumbled across this thread. I had vague memories of my wife saying she had signed up for a policy a couple of years ago but I forgot about it. I've just asked her what the figures are and it seems to tally with what previous posters have said:

£10 a month for first year,
£12 a month for second year,
£14 a month for third year,
and I believe we've just started the fourth year.

So we've only paid about £440 quid into it. Will phone up tomorrow to see what the surrender value is, then add Carol effing Smilie to my list of people I will throw eggs at if I ever see them in the street.

Why not put it down to experience and thank the good citizens on MSE who gave you financially beneficial information?

There's no need to add to any decline in civility in the UK.

I wasn't being entirely serious. Most people can spot an exaggeration.

(eggs-aggeration?)
• Sorry to resurect an old thread guys. I have just come across this posting and I am quite shocked to be honest.

I am a little confused though. I notice most of the posts refer to the Axa Sun life cashbuilder plus policy where as I have a axa sun life with profits fund policy. What is the difference?

I have been with Axa Sun Life since 1999, my Maturity date for my policy is Jan 2014.

My 2006 bonus cert says that my total bonuses today are £218.46 and also a reorganisation bonus of 15%

I have been paying in £18 for the entire policy.

So far I have paid in £1926.

Do you think it is worth cancelling this policy or should I let it run it's term and see what I get paid at the end?

Many thanks

after reading this thread - myself and my husband both wrote to axa requesting full refund of all of our payments we had made into axa sunlife bonus cashbuilder policy - both received just over £2k each this week - if we had accepted the settlement figure they initially offered would only have received half of that amount each

i believe had we let the policies run full term of 15 years we would not have received anywhere near the amount we had been expected and thought it safer just to take our money and run

if you want copy of letters which we wrote please get in touch
• Thanks Wishicouldaffordit, I have sent you a Pm

The only thing is, your's was a cashbuilder plus policy and mine is a with profits policy, Not too sure what the difference is.
