I was offered the 1% too in addition to the premiums paid in, signed the form and sent it early last week.
So far nothings appeared in my bank account - if I'm correct they return the money to the account that they've taken the money from? Can someone who's got their money back please tell me how long did they have to wait until it was put back into their accounts? Or should I start phoning them up next week?
TIA0 -

I have a policy with AXA sunlife which I took out in March 2002. I am going to write my letter today stating that I would like to surrender my policy + interest and see what they say. I am currently paying them £40 per month.
Can anyone tell me what the correct address to write to?My mantra is "Never pay full price!"0 -
I rang the call centre to cancel my Policy, incidentally although it was obviously an indian person they were very helpful and gave me a surrender figure there and then, asked me to make sure I cancelled my direct debit and sent the form out within 2 working days. I filled in and sent back 2 days later and a few days later the money was in my account.
So the staff themselves were extremely helpful and polite I have to say.0 -

Im so glad I had a look at this post at the middle of last week.
I like to think Im pretty financially SAVVY now having been so bad with money duiring my younger twenties....but it would appear without having read this thread, I would be so still where I was.
I to took out one of the Cashbuilder plans back in March of 2001
I strated off saving £100 per month (thinking I was trying to get my finances sorted) and so didnt read any of the T&C's and didnt even thjink of the projections being potentnially less than I had paid in.
Anyway, after six and a half years of payments, and in fact £11,200 paid into the account, I asked for a surrender vaklue after reading some of the horror stories on here and was told that if I surrender tomorrow, the total amount I could epxect back would be approx £9,700 (argh) what the @#€% 2 grand short....how is that possible....
So of course I am cancelling my plan and sticking that money along with the remainder of the payments in a high interest account, and thankfully I should end up with the 6% projection I was originally given as an estimate.
Now I work in finance now so a little embarrased to be have been caught out like this, but I really had no idea of the charges I would effectively be paying.. Im just glad I found out halfway through, becuase had I not bothered checking, there was a good chance of me being 8k out of pocket at the end...and I would have been seriously unhappy about that.....
I have noticed a few people commenting about complaints and FSA findings in the past, is there anything I can claim back on, or should I jsut take my money and run...any comments, suggestions, slatings would be well recd and happily accepted.....
Thanks to everyone who has posted to help me sort this out sooner rather than later.....
just a shame, as that 2k would pay for the Florida holiday Ive just booked......aaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
We got our money back in our accounts today in full! Didn't take that long really 3-4 weeks in total from requesting settlement to rejecting that and accepting the final amount.
