retracting Paypal funds?

Thanks Soo. I cant see it being that as i pay by paypal all the time and ive never had a problem before. I use it at least twice a week.
Im thinking that it may be something to do with her being a new seller , shes bought before off ebay but never sold . I cant remember when i set up my paypal account but do you have to do a sellers account too when you become a seller?Lightbulb moment January 2006 ..This spendings got to stop..things can only get better :T0 -
The only other thought then is that she is trying to sell using a basic account, so your payment can't be accepted unless she upgrades to a premier acocunt. You could try asking her that specific question? It's surprising how many new sellers don't know that they need a premier account to accept virtually all forms of paypal payments.

I don't think this is a case though of seller waiting for funds to clear to a bank account (which I agree is an absolute irritation), otherwise the pending item mention wouldn't apply.

Could someone explain what this bit means as I'm not aware of ever having to "collect" a payment.
I know that it's probably obvious but I don't quite get it! :embarasse:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -

Normally a seller does not have to do anything to accept a paypal payment, it is automatic, which is why this thread is quite interesting. It is very likely that most sellers will never have come across it before, so you are not alone!

Sorry to cause confusionLightbulb moment January 2006 ..This spendings got to stop..things can only get better :T0 -
I had this problem, a payment marked as pending in PayPal. It means PayPal want you to upgrade your account to receive the money. PayPal allows you to pay to another account despite that account being unable to accept the payment. This forces the receiving account holder to upgrade their account (which increases the charges made by PayPal for accepting the payment) or reject the payment.
You can not withdraw your payment. However, the receiving account can reject it. I know this because I auctioned an item recently and was paid using PayPal for an amount excluding postage and packing. I had to reject the payment so the auction winner could make the payment again.
So, either seller upgrades her account so she can accept your pending payment or she rejects it. There's nothing you can do (except keep explaining the situation to her carefully).0 -
Thanks for that. I've mailed now and asked if she has upgraded her Paypal since she became as seller ,so i will see what she comes back with !Lightbulb moment January 2006 ..This spendings got to stop..things can only get better :T0
