Thanks for that. I've been reading the guidance you referred to (at least I think this is it):

I guess paragraph 94:
The enforcement authority must consider representations and any supporting evidence against a Notice to Owner...and paragraph 99:The authority should give the owner clear and full reasons for its decision on a representation, in addition to the minimum required information.are the relevant ones? The former is a requirement, whereas the latter is something the authority must "have regard to". Can I still claim that not responding formally to my specific points is a procedural impropriety? If so, should I appeal on two points, i.e. that the contravention did not occur, and that there has been a procedural impropriety? Thanks! If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -
I need to submit my appeal in the next few days - any comments on my query above? If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0

Thanks for all the help so far. I got notice in the post recently that my appeal hearing is in early September. Does anyone out there have any experience of these and can let me know what to expect?
Are there likely to be representatives from H&F council? How stongly do I need to demonstrate my case? Is it enough to demonstrate that the signage was confusing, or do I have to prove that the council were at fault in some way?If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -
I got a letter today - the council have decided not to contest the case
Obviously I'm delighted - I really must thank everyone who helped on this thread.
If they didn't think they had a case, why did they bother wasting my time in the first place...If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -

Because there was a good chance you'd cough up without a fight.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
