what's a polite way to go to my downstairs neighbours and ask them to [STRIKE]shut the hell up [/STRIKE]keep it down a bit?
I can hear them having a conversation (not the words unless I put my ear to the wall) but I can hear constant murmuring for the past hour now it's driving me mad.. I've tried stomping on my floor/their ceiling but they don't seem to be getting the hint! and I can tell they aren't "English" as it's not English coming up (1/10th of the population around here is Polish so I think it's that)

Oh Gemma, I had my flat rock and rolling today, and the fella next door *singing* along to it, in English! Him and his gf or friend were having a barbecue

I am not English myself but OH is, so really had no clue what he was saying :o I could tell though he was getting over-passionate :D !!!!

Their THREE cats invited themselves over to our garden, and scared the birds away...I put food for the birds and they parked their bums right next to it  OH thought oh how cute!!!!!

I don't mind noise during the day but personally consider past 11pm disrespectful to other people in the block. I'm still up atm, but was planning on sleep soonish so if they don't pipe down, I'll have to go down there.. why can't people in flats be more considerate?:rolleyes: boooooooooooooo to the cats! (I'm a bird girl :D)

:D:D:D x yes me too boooooooooo to the cats -love that.

I totally agree, it is disrespectful and rude of them..and it would get on my nerves big time too!! They should definitely understand better. You don't have to put up with this!

my only problem is that I'm newest to the block and I've already falsly gone upstairs and asked them to keep it down and when I got up there it wasn't them :o:eek: I apologised there and then but still feel guilty but I know for sure it's downstairs this time as I stuck my head out the window and can see their light on and a voice straight from below.. ho hum. as its a BH tomorrow, I'm just hoping it's a one off as they aren't usually up this late. If not, well, they'll have a nice note through their door tomorrow, asking them to shush ;):p

it only bothers me so much as I've just left a flat above a tattooists who were really noisy from 9am-6pm daily and never listened to our requests, even when we went to the landlord. Ho hum. Enough whinging from me, me thinks :rotfl:

right, gonna try and sleeps now. Have good days tomorrow everyone, not sure when I'll be back - window shopping day tomorrow :D:D:D:D

I'm watching the end of the Masters.
It's getting quite exciting. Play off with three players, one out and now the last two are on another hole!
    Both with good shots!

LOL why would you put your ear to the wall to listen to the conversations?? surely its not that loud then???
and i'd expect a tatoo business to be busy and fairly noisy in office hours.
sorry not meaning to be rude its just i really hate people who complain about 'low level' noise.. my DH is an acoustics consultant and during his masters he did a whole project on the laws of antisocial noise and trust me if you have to stick ur head out of the window or put ur ear to the wall to hear properly then it definatley wouldnt be classed as nuisance noise.... niether would ur old place at those times of day.

AND BREATH.... ok am over it now... sorry Gemma :(
