Wouldn't agree with that, perhaps they are sometimes cheaper in the supermarket, not to the tune of 90%.

Especially if you buy when there is an offer on, the last times we have had wipes they have wiped the floor with cattle market prices.

Does mean you have to store them which could be a potential problem for some people
You might wish to read my post again :) nowhere did I say the price was 90% less ;)

Also as someone posted previously (sorry can't remember the user but they have a ram in their avvy) that when the pampers baby dry were on offer in costco they were only slightly cheaper than the standard long running offer in asda on the mega boxes
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

My regular Costco shopping list looks like this:

    Ziploc bags
    Skippy Peanut Butter
    Smoked Salmon
    Sunmaid Raisins
Toilet Paper (when on offer - quite often)
Kitchen Roll (when on offer - quite often)
    Dishwasher tablets
Persil Non-Bio liquid detergent (when it's not on offer in regular supermarket)
    Gilette Venus razor blades
Fruit & Veg - excellent quality, but large quantities and not cheap
Occasionally I look around and buy nuts or biscuits for special occasion

I've just been through this pikelet/pancake discussion LOL and I found that what I want to make is neither, its girdle scones :)
Which is nothign whatever to do with costco LOL!
I also love griddle scones, if you make the pancakes and add sultanas, can be done in oven or fry pan, when cold put them in fridge and can be buttered. Yummy

Lots are cheaper than supermarkets, over the last few months the likes of Strawberries, Bananas and Blueberries (our regular buys) have worked out cheaper than the cattle markets.

We take some potatoes and onions every now and them and think they are also good value.

These are the American style pancakes, not the style we make for Pancake day :D

And yes, we can get excited very easily on this thread it seems :D
And they are also the same as 'Scottish Pancakes' which I'm not sure what they get called south of the border, but I remember being with London friends and we got very confused about what we called 'pancakes' she called them 'drop scones'.

I bought the pancake mixture from costco after this thread :D - and I have borrowed my mum's waffle iron, hoping to make them today, let you know what they are like as waffles :D

Well I like them :D but the kids aren't so keen BUT only because I've being buying the Mcvite's waffles the past while, and they are good, but very expensive for all you get compared to how many you could make of the costco waffles. The Costco ones would be delish for dessert with ice cream, or maple syrup and clotted cream, kids had them on their own - but saying that they did eat them all the same.

Another tip is after you make them and they cool down, when you want to eat them, pop them in the toaster for 40 secs or so, they crispen up nicely :)

  • Does anyone know if Costco sells Bosch or Miele washing machines? Thinking of joining if they do? Thanks
