Can anyone tell me a price on tinned fish? Either sardines/mackerel or tuna? Its for my dog :)
I dont mind buying in bulk if its cheap. Currently paying 80 ish pence a tin for mackerel in Mr T

    Flat "rectangular" tin - 125grams ?
In tomato sauce ? 89p in Tesco .....

Sardines in same tin & same weight (ish) - about half the price 49p in T or 48p in A

HOWEVER - PILCHARDS (slightly larger sardines)

425g CAN (like a can of Baked Beans) 84p in ASDA - PRINCES brand

can you not just pay the renewal price, they usually mention at the till it's due to run out do you want to renew it now or wait til it's more nearer the date you dont have any forms to fill in or nothing

If you are a US member and it is expired (i.e. in your case, end of April), you are eligible to join as a UK Individual member for £30, just bring in your US Costco card and a utility bill/ bank statement.

Im going there tomorrow, so will see if they say anything as its March now so perhaps something will show up on the till! If so then I will definitely renew/join there, so Ill put a bill in my bag just incase.

Just bringing Makro back into the thread, has anyone found any good buys there recently? It's often not any cheaper than supermarkets (even in bulk) but do sometimes have quite good offers.

    New MakroMail arrived yesterday

    Valid 7th to 20th March

    One offer that looks OK

    ANDREX - PUPPIES ON A ROLL - 16 PACK - BOGOF @ £8.49

    £10.19 inc VAT = under 32p a roll

You can also view both it and the current MakroMail online

    http://www.makro.co.uk/public/Home/Promotion/Makro-Mail?period=current

Of course they now have an ONLINE SHOP and do FREE DELIVERY on orders over £30 (excludes "Big&Bulky" items)

I was a member years ago but havent been into the shop. Does the card expire like Costco or will they still let me in? (talking about Makro)

I've only ever had 2 cards since the company I worked for obtained membership a very long time ago - at least 20+ years - probably 25 and may even be nearer 30 :)

The first was mostly red with black writing and a white border.
It was replaced with a mostly blue card with Makro (and METRO) in yellow

Apparently mine was issued on 250603 - which is surprising - I thought it was quite a bit longer - since I left the company in question in early 2000 :D

I don't remember this but when they issued the new card they must have sent it to my home address. I still use it about once a month.

There was just one occasion a long time ago when I hadn't used the card for well over a year and they just did a basic check of my name and address etc. before they let me in, but it wasn't an issue.

Think I did confirm the company name and its address also .....
... which I knew was sort of incorrect (the name) since it had changed around the time I left (2000) but the card from 2003 still had the one from the mid 1990's.

    I'd try it - you've nothing to lose :)
