I ended up buying a 15.6 inch Toshiba from John Lewis at £299 as I couldn't confirm what Costco had. I was in last week and looked briefly. The cheapest I saw (around the same size screen) was well over £400 once the vat was added. I'm sure it was a much higher spec but for a starter laptop as a gift I'm was happier getting one for just under £300.

I've not been a member over the Xmas period, does Costco reduce all the christmassy stuff in a sale, or do they follow everybody else and have a sale of bits and bobs over the xmas period?
