Friday 3/4/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking
  • update spreadsheets
  • send some money to savings
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • check and water all my plants and seedlings
  • repot some of bigger seedlings
  • lttle bit of hokey cokey
  • little bit of ironing
  • clean one room so no housework at weekend
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • aim for no spend day
  • swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • do something from my 101 in 1001 challenge list
  • recycle something
  • sparkle a lotconfetti2.gif

    Good Morning,

Yay, Friday has finally come around!

Loads to do today, but I will try to be DFW and have a LSD

    • Off to Newbury for a job interview – I really like the sound of this, just need to get my a**e into gear and sell myself in the interview
    • Done daily scratchy - £1
    • Checked online banking and moved money around
    • Researching the interviewing company like a mad thing (didn’t do this yesterday)
    • If I go out tonight, drive and park in the town centre after 5, and stick to lime and soda water so cheap night out for me I think
    • Buy 2 tickets for Euromillions (fingers crossed)

Think that is about it – take care everyone.

Hugs to everyone who needs them (and is fed up of being sick)

    Morning all!!!

So this will be the last one before the weekend  When it all shuts down! I've only been doing this a few weeks but its become part of my daily routine!! Hope its up & running again by Sunday!!

    Today:

    - Check online banking (Quidco money gone in :T )
    - Washing on the line or airer (bit grey at the mo, not sure if going to rain)
    - Tesco shopping - with list from which I shall not deviate! Got lots of MOCs too)
    - Bike ride with the DDs later to local lake (no school - Teacher training day) so free exercise & feed the ducks
    - 10 comps
    - Check out freebies thread (signed up for free seeds from the BBC yesterday)
    - Recover from my exertions last night......am copy & pasting from my diary thread just to share what happened last night.....:rotfl: :rotfl: hope thats ok :o

OMG just had to come and share this!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We always keep our cat in at night. Last night, she hadnt come in, so we left the catflap on "in but not out" (so she could come in but not go back out again). She came in about 1am. Fine.

This morning, I come down & find the conservatory trashed - everything off the windowsills, blinds all askew and one blind broken!! Not happy, blame it on the cat.

Cut to tonight, elder DD goes to bed at 9am, then shouts down the stairs "mummy, there's a cat under my bed and its not ours".  Up I go with a torch - and yep, there's a giant tabby under her bed!! So we deduce that another cat came in with ours last night, but couldnt get out again, so decided to set up home!!! DH is at work (how convenient!) So I'm there with a torch, a broom and a big pair of gloves trying to get the flaming thing out without waking younger DD who is asleep in the same room!

Eventually success - cat flies down the stairs & hides behind armchair. I chase it out from armchair - back up the stairs & under the bed again (YES I FORGOT TO SHUT BEDROOM DOORS   ) So another go with torch & broom & hooray its down & out.

DD goes to bed, I settle on sofa.

2 hours later, our cat is scratching around and squeaking in the kitchen. I peered behind the bin - ITS STILL THERE!!! The flaming thing had jumped behind the bin and wedged itself behind the dishwasher!!!! You couldnt make this up!!! So I shut our cat upstairs, shut all the other doors, made a barricade between kitchen and lounge (no door) opened back door, emptied dishwasher, (clean luckily) pulled out dishwasher, brandished broom and FINALLY watched it shoot off up the garden!!! :T :T :j :j

WHAT an evening!!! It was huge as well, twice the size of our little puss!!!

Maybe it counts as free exercise :rotfl:  :rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning SM and all that follow!

Oh Mogchops.....I'm not laughing...honest (and I promise the cats not mine;) ) Hope the clean up job isn't too big.

Fay - have a lovely trip! How far south you going? If you make it to Edinburgh or Glasgow look up my Auntie and cousins and say hello ;)

Last day of Piglets speech therapy group today. Bit sad as we have both really enjoyed it. Friday mornings won't be the same from now on...
OH finishing lunchtime so is taking Piglet about 2pm to pick kids up from school. that gives me two free hours before work...bliss!

    So today I will:

    * Speech therapy group - free snacks so thats DFW ;)
    * Storecupboard dinner
    * Check on-line banking
    * Resist vending machine at work (they have boost bars though!!!)
    * Do any surveys that come through
    * Pay Studio bill
    * Start using Piglets reward chart
    * Do menu plan for next week
    * E-mail friend instead of spending hour on phone to her like normal

Thats about it for today. Have good days all. Fay, have a lovely time!

    Miss P
    xx
