  • Yes, I had been assuming that if flightchecker was not showing flights for May then those dates would not have been released by the budget airlines. I eventually booked my Whit holiday flights with Ryanair but I was not early enough for the best deals Easyjet still haven't released those dates- does anyone know how to find out when the budget airlines will release a particular day's flights?

I would also like to point out that the article links to expedia for booking hotel and flight/eurostar, and from my experience expedia turned out to be deceptively expensive on a trip to paris for 2 nights. i had reasoned that as a trawler type website they would get the best deals but had i done my net-work i would have got exactly the same trip from Thompson at £60 less. expedia do not price match and their customer service responses are of the automatically generated type. disappointed i will now have to go back to trawling through loads of sites for my next booking. what a drag.

I think the whole idea of getting cheaperflights/holidays is great. However if you are disabled, with mobility difficulties and fatigue, as I am you need to be a bit more cautious and find out if you can get assistance, stairlifts, seats with extra leg room wheelchair, accessible room etc.

Does anyone have any tips for me about disability aware/friendly tour operators airways and hotels without spending loadsa money as I am on benefits and who doesn't love a bargain.

I am looking for sun without humidity as close as possible eg Malta Cyprus Benidorm. Accessible hotels resorts that aren't too loud would be helpful too. Had very bad experience with First Choice and Tenerife

Here's hoping Martin's wonderful site can encorporate disabled friendly companies or at least flag them up to congratulate them and encourage others to become disabled friendly!

    waiting with anticipation...

  • In the last email I received, mentioned were cheap flights on the flightchecker to Barcelona. I can't find Barcelona on the list.

    Please help!!!

FLIGHTCHECKER SALES WATCH Rome, Barcelona, & Paris c. £15 each way

Ryanair currently has a range of destinations at 1p each way. When you add in its taxes and charges this becomes roughly £15 in total. For a full briefing read the How To Find a Cheap Flight article or go straight to the special free FlightChecker to find the seats in seconds

Haven't used this part of moneysaver before so forgive me if this point has been raised previously.

On a recent trip with Ryanair I found it was cheaper to book a single for the outward journey from the UK (in sterling) and a single for the return journey (even although return journey was charged in foreign currency) rather than a return from the UK all paid in sterling.
  • Hi,

Does group bookings make flights cheaper,

there is a group of us (16), however, most flight comparison sites only let you select 9 persons max. We want to travel to Tokyo in late january, returning in feb, (we have fixed dates), however, if you could help, are there any sites / places to look for group deals.

    thanks

    Hi all,
Please help my partner and I are trying to find a cheap flight to Brisbane for her sister.
She's flexible with her dates, looking to depart around the 22nd December for about four weeks.
She can go a little later and she doesn't mind missing xmas day although she needs to link up with her friend for the New Year festivities.
The only snag is she's a student and it's prime time coupled with the ashes so all quotes are well over £1000!!!!!
Obviously being a student this is a bit pricey so any help greatfully recieved.
    Thanks.
  • As a travel agent, I thought I'd let you know that the annual sale for scheduled airlines is just around the corner!! Traditionally, all the airlines start offering agents fantastic rates for the January sales but the availability of the cheaper seats only stay around a short time. Think of booking a flight like booking a train - the cheapest tickets are when you book non-flexible, non-refundable apex tickets, usually as far in advance as possible and depending on availability. I know this sounds like there are too many variables (and I agree there are) but there can be up to 15 different fares for exactly the same seat in economy class. Now I know the Christmas hangover will still be buzzing around your head, but believe me about the following tip:

Try and book your flights just after Christmas/before New Year as the sales will start a bit early with the major players. Put some flights on hold if you need a bit more time to decide (most companies won't charge you for this). Fares and availability get released about 10 or 11 months in advance (depending on the airline) so the January sales are a great time to be booking your summer holidays or any trip up to November 2007!

Hope this helps and do not hesitate to ask any questions you want,
    Mike
