we used to live in Livingston until last August when we moved back to Edinburgh, what we found was that there was only First bus through there for example the fare on the 27/28 from Mid Calder to East Calder was £1.40:eek: for one stop about half a mile when the 26 or 27 crossed the City into Edinburgh boundary the fares dropped to match Lothian buses, when you could go from Sighthill to Waterloo Place for £1.10:mad: First Bus have all the old wrecks in my experience even in Edinburgh the Lothian buses are far more cleaner and newer the best buses in Edinburgh bar none:T
please do not pick on me for my grammar,I left school at fifteen and worked in the building trade for 55years ,

If you're going 6 stops, you'd be as well getting an 90p ticket and walking a little bit. Kids are 75p for any length of journey which I think isn't a bad deal. If you're going out to Kirkie or Cumbernauld I do think it is a rip off as it is £3.90 for a single but I don't think the Glasgow zone prices are bad.

I use the bus to go to work most days and for many years have bought a transcard that can be used all around the southside (where i live) and also in and around the city centre. This costs me £40 per month. Very often when bus fares increase the price of the transcard stays the same. However after the latest change in fares the cost of my monthly transcard decreased. It now only costs £35.50 per month! Not that i'm complaining.

What ticket do you mean? I thought the transcard was done away with years ago - is it the FirstCard you mean? It was still £40 for 2 zones last time I looked but 1 zone is only £33.

    Hi beecher2,
Some of the FirstCard prices were reduced a couple of months ago. The Zone 1-2 four week ticket is now down from £40 to £35.50. The new price list is here, it is so well buried on their website that it is now difficult to find:
    https://www.firstgroup.com/etickets/showticket.php?locations=10

Those are the online prices, but for the 1 and 4 week tickets at least, the prices are the same at stations and local ticket agents,
