Is this the paper till receipt type or the proper gift voucher type?

I took some clothes back yesterday bought for my son as a gift (I had the gift receipt) and they gave me a till receipt type credit voucher which had a use by date of about 12 months so I'm confused now. Plan to email them for clarification.

I'd best get spending then lol. Got a £25 voucher still sat in my purse.

  • The notice I saw said that they were stopping taking the old style credit vouchers without a date. So I'd take that as meaning that Gift Vouchers are OK, as are the newer credit vouchers which have a date on.

Yes, I was told that gift wouchers will continue to be valid when I asked after seeing the notice. It's just the undated credit vouchers that stop on 22nd. If you're worried, they can put your undated paper gift vouchers on to one of their new gift cards.

Would be a bit strange as the Daily Mail offer vouchers were paper ones and they have only just been issued (and probably spent by most people on here that had them)!

  • That's correct. M&S will no longer be accepting undated paper credit vouchers. They look much like the paper gift vouchers (same style, but different colour scheme) but they say 'Credit Voucher' on them quite clearly.

The green 'till receipt' credit vouchers will still be valid.

The sign i saw instore today said it was the old style credit vouchers (undated and look like the paper gift vouchers, only stating 'CREDIT' rather than GIFT voucher on them) and its from 12th April.

Having read this thread I had some M&S undated gift vouchers. Went to my local M&S over the weekend. The old style undated gift vouchers are being phased out, will be replaced by the new credit card type, but the old gift vouchers have no expiry date so will still be honoured. The dates mentioned must only apply to credit vouchers I guess.
