Virgin,s new Payg Tariff is out.

I presume that customers on the old tariff can stay on it and get free voicemail.

Even though you have to pay for voicemail the new tariff is great! It definately competes with all the other networks now and the fact that you get free internet access plus unlimited texts to any network if you top up with £20 is excellent. Atop buy!!

    yeah,

also about the voicemail - calls to mobiles on other networks are going to be 20p a min cheaper than the old standard PAYG tariff

20p to retrieve voicemail previously free is not exactly great.

A fair use policy applies on the £20 top up.

"¹Unlimited texts subject to a fair use policy of 3000 texts per month. ²Unlimited web access subject to a fair use policy of 25MB per day "

Yeah calls to landlines do go up slightly, ppl on the old tariff really need to work out if it is in their best interests to move. My advice would be that if you are not really much of a texter to either stay on or go onto the daily bonus tariff.

Once you are on the new tariff you cannot go onto the old tariffs - so you need to be sure you are making the right decision. My wife is on daily bonus - she sends at most 3 texts a month so she will be staying on daily bonus.

I think that I have made it clear on plenty of occasions on this forum - that I work for Virgin (its not something I have ever hidden & have made a point on mentioning a number of times)- esp when i'm helping virgin customers with their problems. tbh it would start to look a bit silly if I mentioned it in every post.

its funny, when this was in planning I did mention that ppl would talk about a 20p charge for voicemail, rather than the fact customers are going to be getting 3000 text messages free if they top up £20. I suppose its glass half empty, or half full.

As mentioned, ppl who are already on the old PAYG tariff do not have to change - so they can keep free voicemail if they want.

Well they named the new tariff appropriately, I must say. It takes me about a year to use £10 of credit .
I will stay on the Daily Bonus as I rarely phone anyone and only send a couple of texts occasionally. I don't have web access. The phone is more of an emergency thing, really.
