the 8 weeks are up and we have not had a response from GE Money
so need to contact the FSO to get them to take the matter further.
will update again when i know more.

right, so complaint form sent back fo FOS. hopefully will hear from them soon as to what action they are going to take. still nothing from GE Money...no great surprise there!!

finally got a letter from GE Money- stating that if we wanted a refund we should have cancelled the policy when we paid the loan off :mad::mad: we were never told this at any point when we paid the loan off in full. and nowhere on the orig paperwork does it state that you can do this
and that they were not responsible for the mis-selling so i rang FOS and
refund-they are going to take this further with GE Money as they never told us when the loan was paid off that we could cancel the policy, we just got told that we had to pay the full premium.
mis-sellling- now this is interesting. our broker was Freedom Finance as as we have been told prev by them we need to take the matter up with Bespoke Finance/Karacus Ltd... the lady i spoke to at FOS said have you ever heard of these companies before you were told bout them in the letteres. i said no. as we know bespoke/karacus are in Gibraltar and are not FSA regulated however Freedom Finance are regulated and she said that they are responsible for the mis-selling. So she is setting up a new complaint with Freedom Finance for the mis-selling.
i think its very fishy that anyone who has a complaint with Freedom Finance is directed to Bespoke/Karacus (all the same company from the sounds of it).
so....
refund is still ongoing

got our letter from FOS regarding the refund for the PPI.
they are sending the file to their 'adjudicators' who look at both sides. and then make a decision. our argument is that when we rang to pay the loan off, and we queried paying for the whole insurance policy, we were never told to ring the insurance company or that we could cancel the insurance and get a refund like they stated in their letter and enclosed 'photocopied' leaflet. btw the leaflet has obv been written/printed since the whole ppi thing came up... we certainly were never given a copy of that leaflet when we took the loan out!!
anyhoo...
have to allow approx 8 weeks for someone to get in touch from FOS.so will be after xmas before we have an answer from FOS.
complaint bout the mis-selling is now underway as well.
going to take a lot longer than we anticipated, but hopefully will get resolved in our favour after christmas.

just an update....
our complaint against GE Money hasnt even been given an adjudicator as yet. but they have advised that it can take a while.
freedom finance have again insisted that although they 'arranged the loan on our behalf' they actually did this in behalf of 'Bespoke Finance'. said that they had already sent our complaint to Bespoke Finance, of course, we have never even had an acknowledgement of this complaint from them. so asked for a tel number for them which they gave me. they also gave me the email address which, surprise surprise was slightly different to the one they originally gave us.
so have rang this [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] who has had a look and said he has no record of our complaint at all!!! he is going to look further for it and get back to me.
i;m fuming!!! he said it might have got lost in post. which shows prob as well that Freedom once they pass the complaint dont care whether or not [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] actually does anything with the complaint!!! freedom finance sent our complaint originally by email so why hasnt he done anything with it?????????????
