Cheap Wireless headphones at Tesco

Hi,
My local Tesco extra (Lee Mill, Plymouth) have discounted the Wireless Headphones they are selling, now £9.97 were £20.

They look the same as the ones at £17.99 plus p+p at 7DAYSHOP apart from the transmitter which looks slightly different.

If they are the same unit, the reviews are quite good on 7 Dayshop, a few people have had a bit of noise when connected to TV,DVD etc.

I had a quick play and they seem fine, not top notch audiophile gear but good enough for listening to the telly and stereo etc.

They are a very good price for a tenner, and if you don't get on with them just chuck them back at Tesco:D

Is the input the same as the 7day shop images i.e

Stereo Jack plug? Is it 3.5?

    Cheers

Yes it is 3.5mm on the audio input to the transmitter.

    It also comes with the following cables ;
1 audio lead (3.5mm to 3.5mm, about 1.5m in length)
    1 Y-connection lead (3.5mm to 2 RCA plugs)
    1 adapter (3.5mm to 6.5mm jack plug)

As well as that it comes with 2 AAA rechargable batteries needed for the headphones. The headphones are recharged by plugging it into the transmitter, again the cable is supplied.

It comes with everything you would need.

    Hope that helps.

    - At what frequency are they transmitting?
    - Are they in FM normal radio bands (So your neighbours can listen wht you listen too)?
    - Can you just plug the audio lead and use them in a wired configuration to improve privacy?

The unit transmits on 863MHz UHF/FM, so your neighbours wont be able to hear it.
No to a wired configuration, they are designed to be wireless:D

A friend has wireless headphones although not this brand. I find them quite hissy. How do users rate these ones for background noise?
  • I wonder if these are PSP compatible - you can see me already hurtling round the M25 (my lounge in reality) with Toca Racing 3! (and I'm not even much of a gamer ....yet!)

Audio quality seems to be excellent!

Here's what the box looks like, old price at £19.99 - Note the discontinued label.
