    Hi SH24

I applied for my credit card in 1999, and on the application form there was a box asking if PPI was required, I didn't understand what this was and incorrectly assumed it was part of the agreement so I ticked for YES. It wasn't until the middle of last year that I started hearing about mis-sold PPI and looked into it further. I was really surprised to find out that I had been paying for this for the past 9 years so I stopped the PPI last year and then decided to do something about it. I know that Cap 1 had already been fined for mis-selling PPI and I only managed to get hold of my documents pertaining to the application in January. I sent the first letter, got no reply, sent the second one, got a reply (with a copy of a letter they claimed to have already sent me which I didn't receive) so now I will take this to the FOS. In fact I will be posting this off today.

    Fingers crossed.

Just had capital one response regarding PPI claim. They have offered me £782 as a goodwill gesture. But my claim from my calculations should be nearer £2000.

I think i'll send off the offer not accepted letter.

    Hows everyone else doing.

    Hi hun

I don't blame you, its quite a difference in the amounts.
Was that a final offer?, wonder if they are now prepared to go all the way with this, may be worth asking, just in case, but it if anything you have the FOS, who I'm sure will resolve this case for you, good luck.;)X

When they sent me the first offer i simply said, no thanks, please review my claim again and they sent me a second letter offering the lot. I've heard this has been the case with alot of people.

Think cap one just try their luck first time, hoping some people say yes to first low offer, and you can see why some people do if they are struggling financially.

You go get what you deserve!

Hi. just wanted to give an update. i have received the final response from Capital one where they are saying that they will not be increasing the offer and that is their full & final offer and that this is their final response to the matter. Should i take them to the FSA or just accept the £782 they are offering and leave it at that.
