  • my three year old came up with an extreme money saving idea- she made herself a human piggy bank she swallowed a £1 coin ( she had a trip to a&e, she is fine we just have to wait for it to come out)

One way to keep your money safe but the interest is CRAP !!!!

Only ever charge up your mobile phone at work - this works best if you have a work mobile which takes the same charger, then you are less likely to be noticed :p

Must admit i agree with skintchic, its probably more mental attitude but when i my tank his the last 1/4 i get less miles probably because i panic I might run out, So to fix it I top up full once a month and add £20 ish a week, eventualy you can only get £10 or so in :-) and im never worried I will run out.

No, honest it is true!!!! :p

I don't understand why but I have read it a number of times. If I can find an explanation I'll post it.

At my hubby's last work the boss was so tight!

My hubby said to him "Can we have a new roll of toilet paper in the bathrooom, we've used both sides of the old one!"

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Surely, with a full tank of petrol, the car is heavier, thereby requiring greater usage of fuel to pull it?
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

This one is a bit cheeky, but saves me LOADS!!!!
Take a bottle of vodka or whatever you drink out with you when you go out drinking. Then just buy coke or lemonaid and fill it up!! Make sure you NEVER do it when people are watching, and do it in a place that if you did get kicked out, you dont care anyway!! I save at least £50 a weekend.

  • When you come back from a sunny summer holiday, bring back your lilo fully inflated so that when you get home you can release the warm air into your home thus saving on your heating bill.

You could take bricks from your night storage heater too if you have such a beast.

I've been known to do the following at Christmas parties - Tto save a lot of cash - buy a 3 litre box of your chosen wine, get the little tap positioned correctly, then wrap in gaily coloured Xmas paper, with the tap protuding from the paper, top with a bow and take into party as if you are presenting a seasonal gift.

Place on suitable flat surface for the duration of the party with the tap ready to dispense wine to you and your friends. Works a treat and saves a lot of cash. (Don't tell anyone I suggested it if you get scuppered though!!)

I always thought it was more the case that your petrol gauge isn't all that precise and accurate, and when it gets down to a quarter there's actually realistically a bit less than a quarter, and so on. My petrol gauge is the most erratic thing in the world and stays on one level for ages, and then drops by about fifty gallons as soon as you switch off and back on again. I've tried seeing whether it works the other way too, but sadly not :(
