So if you're going to be so childish I could just say, 'ignore philandstuff above, it doesn't matter if it's technically factually correct, the damage is done the moment that the desperate person has clicked on the link thinking that there is help available - after all, this is a website and brand that thousands of people turn to precisely because they are desperate and looking for anything that could make things a bit easier, and therefore may not be looking at things quite closely enough.'
To the other comments to 'get a life' - equally I could say the same. I hate that this date is a licence for childish adults (yes you're right they are adults aren't they?!) to fill every medium possible with nonsense whilst grinning like some smug idiot who's done something really clever.
Well done.
Oh and by the way, if this was meant to be able to be seen as a joke then don't you think it should have directed to a board other than this one?Get busy living, or get busy dying.

Sorry to hear you feel that way. I wrote it very carefully, so that it would not mislead. April Fools day is a long standing historic tradition.
Most people, reading the above, enjoyed it and got a smile. I think its important not to underestimate the value of that in these hard times.
Yet the piece also had an agenda. Many people don't understand how tax works and there's an allowance you can earn tax free (I know this from results in the MoneySaving Quiz). So this piece explains it. Someone above has even said they are going to check they're not overpaying on the back of it.
Plus quite deliberately rather than leaving anyone fooled, it tells you in big letters its an April Fools day joke, just for the sake of clarity.
Im sorry you didnt like it, but I'm very glad so many people did - both reporting it on this forum and elsewhere.
Keep smiling...
